THE CITY OF VERNON HELD MONDAY, JUNE 27, 2011,
IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER OF THE CITY HALL LOCATED
AT 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA
MEMBERS PRESENT: Gonzales, Davis, Newmire, Maisano
MEMBERS ABSENT: McCormick
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Mayor Gonzales.
The City Clerk announced that there were no changes to the
agenda.
The City Clerk announced that this was the time allotted for
public comment. The Mayor inquired whether anyone in the
audience wished to address the City Council. No one in the
audience responded.
Mayor Gonzales presented a proclamation to Robert Kipness for
his many years of service to the City of Vernon.
CONSENT CALENDAR
It was moved by Maisano and seconded by Davis, that the matters
on the Consent Calendar be approved as recommended. Motion
carried, 4-0.
1. Resolution No. 2011-114 - A Resolution Of The City
Council Of The City Of Vernon Calling For The Measure To
Amend The City Charter To Include Term Limits For City
Council Members Be Submitted To The Voters Of The City At
A Municipal Election To Be Held On November 8, 2011.
2. Resolution No. 2011-115 - A Resolution Of The City
Council Of The City Of Vernon Ordering That A Measure To
Amend The City Charter To Include A Prevailing Wages
Provision Be Submitted To The Voters Of The City At The
November 8, 2011 Municipal Election.
3. Resolution No. 2011-116 - A Resolution of the City
Council of the City of Vernon Appointing Michael B.
Montgomery to Serve as the Interim City Attorney of the
City of Vernon.
In response to Mayor Gonzales, Police Chief Daniel Calleros
advised that he would send a patrol unit to Ameripride Uniform
Services for possible graffiti, and follow up on the vandalism
of the control box located at Alcoa Avenue and Slauson Avenue.
The City Clerk announced that there were no further items on the
agenda.
At 8:02 a.m., it was moved by Maisano and seconded by Newmire,
that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
