IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER OF THE CITY HALL LOCATED
AT 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA
MEMBERS PRESENT: Davis, McCormick, Maisano, Ybarra, Martinez
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by Mayor Davis.
Interim City Clerk Dana Reed announced that there were no
changes to the agenda.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Interim City Clerk Dana Reed announced that this was the time
allotted for public comment. Mayor Davis inquired whether
anyone in the audience wished to address the City Council.
There was no response.
ORDINANCES
1. Ordinance No. 1203 - An Ordinance of the City Council of
the City of Vernon Updating the Comprehensive Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Vernon Providing Additional and
Amended Use Definitions and Language Clarification by
Amending Chapter 26 of the Vernon City Code (first
reading)
Interim City Clerk Dana Reed advised that the purpose of the
meeting is to reintroduce Ordinance No. 1203. He noted that
there are no changes to the Ordinance from the version
previously introduced to the Council at the February 19, 2013,
meeting.
Reed further clarified that this will be the first reading and
the Ordinance will be agendized at the March 5, 2013, Council
meeting for the second reading along with the other housing
element ordinance.
City Attorney Nicholas Rodriguez explained that the Ordinance
title as presented on agenda at the February 19, 2013 meeting
was not listed properly. This matter is to address a defect in
the notice to the public, under Brown Act requirements. In
order to resolve the issue, the matter is presented with the
correct Ordinance title as a first reading. The agenda now
reflects the correct title.
It was moved by McCormick and seconded by Maisano to approve the
first reading of Ordinance No. 1203. Motion carried.
At 2:02 p.m., it was moved by McCormick and seconded by
Martinez, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
