shall be operated, maintained and kept in repair by the .uid City
of Los Angeles, providod, however, that the City of Vernon shall

such operation, maintenance and repairs, five (5) per cont of the
cost thereof, the remaining ninety-five (95) per cent to be horne
by the City of Los Angeles.

each such inatallment to be thus paid shall bo in the 3"'"e propor-

with, then, at that t1ll1e, the amount to be paid by the said C1ty
of Vernon thereunder shall be~p!i1d balance of the total amount

(2) For the construction of the said Santa Fe Avenue Main
ller:er, the Clty of Vernon shnll pay to the Oity of Los Angeles twenty
(20) pOl' oent of the cost thereof, provided, however, that it shall
be. expres:;ly sti.pul.ated. u.'l.derstood and agreed that in no event

sewer a lareer or greuter sum then thirteen hundred (1300) do lars,

any connections ~hatever srulll be made with the suid Santu Fe
Avenue Main Sewer within the limits of the Oity of Vernon.
