Section 1. It sha.ll be 'lmlawful for any person to be or
8lJpear in any public place or in any place open to pul.Jlic view I or
on any street, alley, highway, court. parkt railway depot, plaza,
or public square in the City of Vernon in a state of drunkenness
or intoxication.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to be on any
private premises. or in any private house. in a state of drunken-
neBS or intoxication to the annoyance of any other person.
Section 3. !Yny person who s11all violate any of the proYi-

sians of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor

and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in a sum not exceeding

fifty dollars or be confined in the oity jail not exceeding fifty

days or suffer both suoh fine ar,d imprisol1l!lent.

Section 4.
The Clerk shall. upon the passage of this ordi-

llance and after the same has been signed by the President of the
conies of'
Board of Trustees and attested by the Clerk, post or cause/the sam~
to be posted in three of the most public places in the City of
