Section 1. That the right, privilege and pennission be
and the same is hereby granted to the Atchison, Topeka and Santa
Fe Railway Company, a corporation, its successors and assigns,
to lay, construct, maintain and operate a railroad spur track
across 26th Street, j:n the City of V€rno:n. Count~~ of Loe Angeles
State 0 f California, as shown in red on blue print attached, tbe
center line of which is more particularly de:::..,cribed as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of East
26th Street, distant thereon 8.65 feat easterly from the
southeast corner of Lot I. Tract No. 3038. recorded in
Uap Book 31, Page 40, Recorde of Los Angelee COlmtYi
thence southerly in a. direct line tG e. point in the
southerly line 0 f East 26th S't.r.et, di stant thereon 214.80
feet easterly from tbe northeast corner of Lot 2, of said
Tract No. 3038.

(b) That said grantee. its successors and assigns, shall
construct all necessarJ flumes, or culverts for the passage of
water wherever and whenever neceBsary f and that all such fl urnes

(.ty of Vernon.
(e) That said grantee. its successors or assigns. will

(d) That any neglect, fai lure or refusal on the
of the grantee. its successors or assigns. to observe

ordinance contained. shall effect a forfei ture of the right
privilege or perr.'lieeion hereby granted, and the said City,
by It3 Board of Truate€B. may thereupon declare Baoh right
and privilege forfeited, and may exclude from any further UBe
of the street occupied by said spur track, and the grant
hereby made shall thereupon become and remain null, void
and of no effect.

stock or item of ~lY kind whatsoever, shall, by the said
Railway Company, for a. period longer than three (3) successive
minutes at anyone time. obstruct. hinder or delay traffic
from :paseing along and tn the space of l5ijt (6) feet on either
side of the center line of said 26th Street, and at all timee
when said track ie tn use, the Railvray Comp&r~y shall keep, at
its ::Jwn expense. a fla@l1aIl or signalman therea.t for the purpose
of indicating. a.nd wbo shall indicate to the punl i c thf': fa.ct
that said track is in uee, and who shall do all such things as
are necessary and proper to protect the public from danger or
injury by reason of euch use~
(g) There being no newspa.per of general circulation
published and circulated in the City of Vernon, the Clerk 18

public places in eaid city; to wit, tb~ northwest corner cf
38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northweet corner of ~?'th
Street and Santa Fe Av€;nue and at the entrance of the City
Hall at the northwest corner of 38th Street and Irving Str~et.
