AN ORDINANCE OF TIlE CITY OF VERNON FIXING TIlE RATE OF TAXES
AND LEVYING TIlE TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1,
1936.
~1lE CITY COUNCIL r1E' TIlE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS.
Section 1. That :1:01' the purpose of raising the SU!ll
of money to be raised by taxation upon taxable property in
the City of Vernon as revenue to carry on the various depart-
ments of said City for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1936,
the rates of taxes for the different portions of the City of
Vernon are hereby f'1xed, and taxes are hereby levied, on all
taxable property in the different portions of said City for
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1936, in the number of cents
upon each One Hundred Dollars of the assessed value 0 f said
property as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, and
for the several funds and purposes set forth in the following
table, the taxes levied upon property in eaoh portion of said
City hereinafter described and designated by a District NUmber
being at the rates set opposite the deeignations of the
reepective funds in the column headed by the District NU!IIber
which is prefixed to the description of such port1on of said
Ci ty as hereinafter stated.
DISTRICT NO.1. All that portion of the City of
Vernon included wi tJ1j.n the boundaries thereof as originally
incorporlLted; all that territory annexed to the City or Vernon
at annexation election held June 9, 1925, and known as Vernon
Avenue Annexation; all that tel'ritoX7' annexed to 'the C1.ty of
Vernon at annexation eleotion held October 3, 1928, and shown
as Vernon and Downey territory.
DISTRICT NO.2. All that tel"I'itory annexed to the

1 City of Vernon at annexation eleotion held Ootober 26, 1920,
2 and known as Industrial Tract; all that territory annexed to
3 the City of Ve=on at annexation election held February 20,
4 1914, and known as ~itland Traot; all that territory annexed
5 to the Ci1:7 of Ve1'llon at annexation eleotion held Febl"llSl'Y 20,
6 1914, and known as Hay TI'Sct; all that te1'I'itory annexed to
7 the City of Vernon at annexation eleotion held January 9,
8 1926, and known as Central ManufactU1'1.Dg District.

municipal improvement districts of said City for the fiscal
year beginning July I, 1936, in the number o;f cents upon eaoh

the ~ble lands of the Acquisition and Improvement Distriot
of said City, to pay ths principal and interest whioh has be-
oome, or will beoome, parable on the bonds of said distriot
issued under the proceedings therefor, before the proceeds of
another tax leV'1 can be made available for the payment of said
principal and interest, a special assessment tax in each of
the respective zones of said District sst forth in the follow.

published and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk
ia hereby direoted to certify to the passage of this Ordinance
and shall post same, or cause same to be postsd, in three or
the most public places in said Ci~, to-wit: the northwest
corner or 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northwest corner
of 37th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; and on the bulletin board
