AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 451
BY ADDING ANOTIlER SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 9t.
TIlE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS,
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 451 :1.s hereby amended
by adding another section thereto, to be known as Section 9i.
Said Section 9t i. to read a. rollows,
"Section 9i: The City Clerk, before issuing a per.mlt
under this Ordinance, .hall collect from the applicant
a fee for the cheoking of the plans for the building or
structure, in addition to the fee provided in Section
9. The fee for checking plans shall be the ","ount in
the following table for such total value or coat of
each separate building or structure, to-wit:

"The total value and/or cost hereinbefore men-
tioned in tb.1s section shall mean the fair market
value of the building, structure, and/or construc-
tion work when completed, including all labor and
material and all permanent l1ghting, heating,
ventilating, water supply, plumbing, fire sprinkler,
electrical wiring and/or elevator equipment
therein or thereon.

"In any ease where draWings, plans or speci-
fications or drawings, plans and specifications
apply to two (2) or more separate bulldinge or
structures, the plan checking fee shall be determined
by adding the cost or value of such separate build-
ings or structures and such fee shall be determined
according to sucb sum as per foregoing schedule of
fees; provided, however, that any building of the
value or coet of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or
less shall be deducted from such sum 1n arriving at
the figure on which such fee 1s based.
"The provisions of this section shall not apply
to preliminary coneultation regarding drawings,
plans and/or specifications far the purpose of gen-
erally determining that the design, arrangement and/
or proposed constructlon will comply witb this
ordinance.
"In any case where such valuation and/or cost, as
stated in such application for plan checking and/or
for a building permit, is lees than the actual total
value and/or cost of the proposed building, etructure
end/or construction work, in the judgment of' the
Superintendent of Building, the applicant for such
plan checkinc and/or building permit shell be
notified to such effect, and suoh drawings, plans
and/or specifications shall not be Checked and/or
examined by the Building and Safety Department un-
til such applicant shall have increased such valua-
tion and/or cost, and paid the difference between
the original plan checking fee paid and the fee
hereinbefore required tor such increased valuation
and/or cost."

Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the
passage of this Ordinance, and shall poat same, or cause
same to be posted in three of the moat public P+&CeS 1n said
City, to-wit: At the northwest corner of 38th Street and
Santa Fe Avenue; at the northwest corner of 37th street and
Santa Fe Avenue, and on the bulletin board 1n the lobby of
the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue, in said City; that this Ordinance shall be in fUll
force and effect fro~ ~nd after the date of poeting.
