ORDINANCE NO. 517
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON PROHIBITING THE PROPELLING
OF ANY MOTOR VEHICLE UPON OR ALONG ANY PUBLIC STREET IN THE
CITY OF VERNON UNLESS SAME IS EQUIPPED WITH PNEUMATIC OR SOLID
RUBBER TIRES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLONS:
Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to
operate any motor driven vehicle upon or along any public street
in the City of Vernon unless same is equipped with pneumatic
or solid rubber tires.
Section 2: Any person, association of persons or
corporation who shall violate the proviSions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars
($300.00), or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of
Vernon or the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles, at the
discretion of the committing Magistrate, for a period not ex-
ceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
@~ction 3: There being no newspaper of general
circulation printed, published and circulated in the City of
Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the
passage of this Ordinance, and shall post same, or cause same
to be posted, in three of the most public places in said City,
to-wit: at the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe
Avenue; at the northwest corner of 37th Street and Santa Fe
Avenue; and at the entrance to the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue, in said City; that this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and
