TEE CITi COUNCIL OI~ TI-ill CITY OF' VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. That for the purpose of raising the sum

of money to be raised by taxation upon taxable property in the
7
City of Vernon as revenue to carryon the various departments
8
of the City for the fiscal year beginning July I, 1943 the rate
of taxes for the different portions of the City of Vernon are
9

hereby fixed, and taxes are hereby levied, on all taxable prop-
11
arty in the different portions of said City for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 1943 in the number of cents upon each One
Hundred Dollars of the assessed value of said property, as
12

assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of
15
Supervisors of said County of Los Angeles, and for the several
16
funds and purposes set forth in the following table, the taxes
17
levied upon property in each portion of said City hereinafter
described and designated by a District Number, being at the
rates set opposite the designations of the respective funds in the
column headed by the District Number which is prefixed to the
description of each such portion of said City, as hereinafter
stated.
DISTRICT NO.1:
All that portion of the City of
Vernon included within the boundaries thereof as originally
incorporation; all that territory annexed to the City of Vernon
at annexation election held July 9, 1925, and known as Vernon
Avenue Annexation; all that ter'ritory annexed to the City of
Vernon at annexation election held October 3, 1928, and known
as Vernon and Downey territory.

February 20, 1914, and known as Hay Tract; all that territory
annexed to the City of Vernon at annexation election held Janu-

Section 3.
That in addition to the rates herein-
above fixed and determined, there shall also be levied upon
all the taxable lands of the Acquisition and Improvement Dis-
trict of said City, to pay the principal and interest which has
become, or will become, payable on the bonds of said District
issued under the proceedings theI'eofor, before the proceeds of
another tax levy can be made available for the payment of
said principal and interest, a special assessment tax in each
of the respective zones of said District set forth in the
following table:

Section 4.
There being no newspaper printed,
2 published and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City
3 Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this
4 Ordinance and shall post same, or cause same to be posted
5 in three of the most public places in said City, to-wit:
6 the Northeast corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue;
7 the Northwest corner of 37th Street and Santa Fe Avenue;
8 and on the bulletin board of the lobi:;y of the City Hall of
9 the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in
10 said City; that this Ordinance shall be in full force and
11 effect from and after the date of posting.
12 Adopted and approved this 24th day of August, 1943.
