AN OHDINANCE OF' TEE CITY OF VEHNON.t CALIFORNIA> REPEALING
OHDIWI.NCES NO. 152, 393 and 450 OF' THE CITY OF' VERNON.
THE CrIIY COUNCIL OF' rrEE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
TfffiT, WHEREAS, the General PetroletID1 Corporation of
California, has requested the City of Vernon to repeal Ordinances
No. 152, 393 and 450 of the City of Vernon, as said General
Petroleum Corporation of' Califo.rnia is desirous of abandoning
the franchises granted to it under sa.id Ordinances, and
WBEREAS, the said General Petroleum Corporation of
California has asked permission to aba~don in place pipe lines
and telephone conduits laid wj.thin the streets of the G i ty of
Vernon, pursuant to said Ordinances No. 152, 393 and 450, and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is desirous of allowing
said General Petroleum Corporation of Califon1ia to abandon in
place, as otherwise it would require the digging up of certain
streets in said City of Vernon:
NOW, rrEEHEF'ORE, IT IS ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
That Ordinances No. 152, 393 and 450 be,
and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 2.
Permission is hereby granted to the
General Pe troleum Corpora t:l.on of California to abandon in place
certain pipe lines and telephone conduits laid in the streets of
the City of Vernon pursuant to said Ordinances No. 152, 393 and
450.
Section 3. The Ci ty Clerk of the Oi ty of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to
be posted in three of the most conspicuous places in the City
of Vernon: At the Northwest corner of 38th street and Santa Fe
Avenue, the Northwest corner of 37th street and Santa Fe Avenue

and the Bulletin Board in the lobby of the Ci ty Ball of the
City of Vernon, loca ted at 4305 Santa. Fe Avenue, and, further,
cause a certified copy of this Ordinance to be mailed to the
General Petroleum Gorporation of California at 108 West 2nd
Street, Los Angeles 12, California, and this Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days
of the date of posting.
