CLOSE UP, VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF IRVING STREET AND
3 TIlli FIRST ALLEY WEST OF SANTA FE AVENUE, j~~ OF 37th STREET

THE CITY COUNCIL OF Tllli CITY OF VEriliON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Sectioh 1. That it is the intention of the City
Council of the City of Vernon to order the vacation and aban-

donment of a portion of that certain public street in the City
of Vernon, known as Irving Street, lying Northerly of 37th
Street and the first alley west of Santa l!'e Avenue and North of
37th Street in said City of Vernon, and more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
(a) All that part of Irving Street (50') wide)
lying northerly of the northerly line of Murial Avenue
(now 37th Street) as shown on corrected map of Aldine
Square Tract, recorded in Book 29, page 12, Miscella-
neous Records of Los Angeles County, California;
(b) All that part of the first alley (12.0 ft
wide) lying westerly of Santa l"e.. Avenue, and northerly
of the northerly line of Murial hvenue (now 37th St.,)
as shown on corrected map of the Aldine Square Tract,
recorded in Book 29, page 12, Miscellaneous Records of
Los Angeles County, California.
Section 2. The City Council of 'the City of Vernon
does hereby fix the time for hearing for all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation, which time and place
shall be September 18, 1945 at 3:00 o'clock P. M. in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, City of Vernon, 4305 Santa Fe ~venue.
Section 3. The Street Superintendent of the City of
Vernon is hereby directed to cause notiees of street vacation to
be posted conspicuously along the line of the street and alley
proposed to be vacated, such notices shall state the passage of
this ordinance of intention, and the time and place of hearing
for all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation. Said notices shall be posted not less than three

1 hundred feet (300') apart and at least three (3) of such
2 notices shall be posted along the line of said street and alley
3 proposed to be vacated.

Section 4. Ordinance No. 587 of the City of Vernon
5 be and the same is hereby repealed.

Section 5. There being no newspaper printed, pub-
lished and circula ted in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is

hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance
and shall post same, or cause same to be posted, in three of
the most public places in the City of Vernon, to-wit: North-
west corner of 38th street and Santa Fe Avenue, the Northwest
corner of 37th Street and Santa ~e Avenue, and the Bulletin
Board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, 10-
cnted at 4305 Santa l<'e Avenue, in said city; that this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of posting.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 28th day of August, 1945.
