2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF v'E11NON PROHIBITING THE OPEHLTION, PARK-
ING 011 STANDING OF ANY SEMI-TRAILER UPON OR ALONG ANY PUBLIC STREET
3 IN THE CITY OF VERNON, UNLESS THE SAME IS BEING USED IN CONJlJ""NCTION

CARRIED BY, ANOTHER VEHICLE, EQUIPPED ~ITH I~FLATED, PNEt~ATIC
5 TIRES. .
6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN A S FOLLOWS:

Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to oper-
8 ate, park or leave standing any semi-trailer upon or along any
9 public street in the city of Vernon, unless the same is at such
10 time being used in conjunction with a motor vehicle and so con-
11 structed that some part of its weight and that of its load rests
12 upon or is carried by another vehicle equipped with inflated
13 pneumatic tires.

Section 2: A semi-trailer is defined as a vehicle de-
15 signed for carrying persons or property and having one or more
16 axles, and one or more wheels, used in connection with a motor
17 vehicle, and so constructed that some part of its weight, and
18 that of' its load, rests upon, or is carried by, another vehicle.

Section 3: Any person, association of persons or
corporation who shall violate the provisions of this ordinance

shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars
(~)300000), or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of

Vernon or the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles, 'at the
discretion of the committing Magistrate, for a period not ex-
ceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonmont.
Section 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
tion printed, published and circulated in the City of Vernon, the
City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this
ordinance, and shall post same, or cause s~ae to be posted, in
three of the most public places in said City, to wit: at the north-

1 west corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; at the northwest
2 corner of 37th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; and at the entrance to
3 the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City; that this Or-
4 dinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
5 of posting.
