AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON DESIGNATING THE PLACE OF AND
ESTABLISHING A CITY JAIL.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDA.IN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1:
That those certain premises in the

City Hall of the City of Vernon located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
which said premises have since on or about the 4th day of August,
1925 been used and occupied as a City Jail in and for said City,
and which said premises so hereinbefore used as such City Jail
are more particularly described as follows: All that portion of

the ground floor of the City Hall Building in the City of Vernon,
in the southwest wing of said City Hall, being an area of approxi-
mately 30 feet north and south and 37 feet east and west, together
14

with the cell blocks, appurtenances and fixtures therein contained,
16
shall be and the same is hereby designated and established as the
City Jail of the City of Vernon, California.

Section 2:
That all designations, previous references
to, and prior use of said portion of said City Hall hereinabove
described as the City Jail of the City of Vernon be, and the same
are hereby approved, ratified and confirmed.

Section 3:
There being no newspaper printed, pub-

lished and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and
shall post same, or cause same to be posted, in three of the
most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: Northwest
corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northwest corner
of 37th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, and the bulletin board in
the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at
4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City; that this ordinance shall

1 be in full force and effect from and after thirty days from
2 the date of posting.
