AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
3 CLOSE-UP, VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF PACIFIC BOULEVARD IN
THE CITY OF VERNON, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1:
That it is the intention of the City

Council of the City of Vernon to order the vacation of a portion
of that certain public street in the City of Vernon officially
8

known and commonly referred to as Pacific Boulevard, and more
12

particularly described as follows:
That portion of Pacific Boulevard (East Roadway)
in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as shown on map of Huntington Park Exten-
sion No.1, recorded in Book 8, Page 181, of Maps, in
the office of the Recorder of said County, bounded on
the north by the westerly prolongation of the northerly
line of Lot 3, Block 22, of said Huntington Park Exten-
sion No.1, on the south by the southerly boundary of
the City of Vernon, on the east by the easterly line of
said Pacific Boulevard (East Roadway), said easterly
line of Pacific Boulevard (East Roadway) being also the
westerly line of Lot 3, Block 22, per map of said Hunt-
ington Park Extension No.1, and on the west by a line
parallel with and distant easterly sixty (60) feet,
measured at right angles, from the following described
line:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
52nd Street as shown on map filed in Book 54, Page 18,
of Record of Surveys in said Recorder's office with that
line in said Pacific Boulevard designated as "Center Line
of Street as Occupied" on said Record of Survey map, said
point of intersection being shown as marked by a brass
monument on said map and in Field Book No.7, Page 18, of
the City Engineer of the City of Huntington Park, California;
thence along said line so designated North 00 13' 22" West
two hundred thirty-one and twenty-nine hundredths (231.29)
feet to its intersection with the center line of Fruitland
Avenue as shown on said map of Record of Surveys and in
Field Book No. 11, Page 12, of said City Engineer as
marked by a lead and tack.

Section 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
elects to handle these proceedings under the provisions of
Division 9, lart 3 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of Californiao
Section 3:
The City Council of the City of Vernon

hereby adopts as a map or plan of the proposed vacation of said

1 Pacific Boulevard the City Engineer's drawing designated
2 A4-1241 and titled "Proposed Vacation of Portion of Pacific
3 Boulevard in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles,
4 California" and directs that said map or plan be filed in the
5 City Clerk's office of the City of Vernon for particulars as
6 to the proposed vacation.

Section 4:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
8 does hereby fix the time for the hearing of all persons
9 interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation, which
10 time and place shall be July 7, 1953 at 2:00 o'clock p.m. in
11 the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Vernon,
12 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.

Section 5:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
directs that notices of the proposed street vacation be
posted conspicuously along the line of the street proposed to
be vacated, and such notices shall state the passage of this
Ordinance of Intention, and the time and place of hearing for
all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vaca-
tion. Said notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet
apart and at least three (3) o~ such notices shall be posted
along the line of said street proposed to be vacated.
Section 6:
There being no newspaper printed,
published and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk
is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance
and shall post same, or cause same to be posted, in three of
the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The
northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the
northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard;
and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of
said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of
Vernon, Los Angeles County, California; that this ordinance

1 shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and
2 after the date of posting.
3 ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of June, 1953.
