AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF AN
ORDINANCE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'J:1HE CITY OF
VERNON, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ON THE 16TH DAY OF
OCTOBER, 1951, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS
OF THE CITY OF VERNON, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, IN THE
SUM OF TWO HU1'DRED SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($260,000.00)
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQ,UIRING, CONSTRUCTING AND
COMPLETING A CERTAIN REVENUE-PRODUCING l\1UNICIPAL

14 "WELLS, PUMPING PLANTS, PUMPS, TANI\S, AND ALL OTHER
15 WORKS NECESSARY THEREFOR.

WHEREAS, on the 16th day of October, 1951, the City
18

Council of the City of Vernon, California, at a regular meeting,
20
21
by a two-thirds vote of its members, duly passed and adopted an
ordinance providing for the issuance of bonds of the City of
Vernon, California, in the sum of two hundred sixty thousand
dollars ($260,000.00) for the purpose of acquiring, constructing
22

and completing a certain revenue-producing municipal improvement,
to-wit: waterworks for supplying said city and its inhabitants
with water, including the acquisition and construction of water
mains, conduits, wells, purnping plants, pumps, tanks, and all
other works necessary therefor, which said ordinance was approved
by the Executive of said city, to wit: the Mayor, thereof, on
the 16th day of October, 1951, and was duly posted in said city
on the 22nd day of October, 1951, and for two succeeding weeks

1 thereafter, in three public places ,in the City of Vernon, to wit:
2 at the entrance to the City Hall of the City of Vernon, 4305
3 Santa F'e Avenue; at the Northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa

Fe Avenue; and at the Northwest corner of 37th Street and Santa
5
Fe Avenue, and
6
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon,
California, desires to change the date of said bonds and the
date of the various maturities of said bonds which are set forth

in said ordinance providing for the issuance of said bonds,

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
11

Vernon does ordain as follows:
Section 1.
That Ordinance No. 646 duly passed and
13
adopted by the City Council of the City of Vernon, California,
on the 16th day of October, 1951, at a regular meeting, by a two-
14
15
thirds vote of its members, providing for the issuance of bonds
16
17
of the City of Vernon, State of California, in the sum of two
hundred sixty thousand dollars ($260,000.00) for the purpose of
18
19
acquiring, constructing and completing a certain revenue-producing
20
21
municipal improvement, to wit: waterworks for supplying said city
and its irulabitants with water, including the ac~isition and
22
23
construction of water mains, conduits, wells, pumping plants,
pumps, tanks, and all other works necessary therefor, be and the
24
25
same is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
26 and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be
27 posted in three public pIa c e s in the City of Vernon, to wit, at
28 the entrance of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, 4305 Santa J:l'e
