ORDINANCE NO. 673
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNO~ON5ENTING TO A PORTION
OF DOWNEY ROAD IN THE CITY OF VERNON BEING INCLUDED AS A
PAR T OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY HIGHWAY.
WHEREAS. the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors at a
meeting of said Board on April 20. 1954, by resolution adopted. declared
that a portion of Downey Road in the City of Vernon described as that por-
tion of Downey Road from 26th Street to Leonis Boulevard should be a part
of the system of County Highways in said County; and
WHEREAS, onf:>r about April 21, 1954. a copy of said Los Angeles
County resolution was forwarded to the City Council of the City of Vernon;
and
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County will improve said highway by
constructing cement concrete curbs, gutters, asphaltic pavement, drain-
age structure and appurtenant work in accordance with Sections 1701 to
1702 inclusive of the Street and Highway Code of the State of California.
NOW. THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Vernon does
ordain as follows:
Section 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby
consent to a portion of Downey Road in the City of Vernon from 26th Street
to Leonis Boulevard, being and the same is hereby declared to be a Los
Angeles County Highway for the purposes and in the manner set forth in
Sections 1701 and 1702 of the Street and Highway Code of the State of
California.
Section 2:
There being no newspaper printed, published and
circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify
to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or cause same to
be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit:

The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin
board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue, all in the City of Vernon; that this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of posting.
