ORDINANCE NO. 678
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO CLOSE-UP~ VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF 46TH STREET~
FORMERLY KNOWN AS JUNIOR STREET, IN THE CITY OF VERNON~
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES~ CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
That it is the intention of the City Council of
the City of Vernon to order the vacation of a portion of that certain public
street in the City of Vernon officially known and commonly referred to as
46th st reet., formerly Junior Street, and more particularly described as
follows:
All that portion of the westerly end of East 46th Street
(formerly Junior Street), being approximately sixty (60)
feet in width and one hundred and fifteen (115) feet in length,
and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 13A, Block 5, New
Vernon, as shown on map recorded in Book 4 at page 64 of
Maps. Records of the County of Los Angeles; thence in a
direct line easterly to the Southeast corner of Lot 15, said
Block 5; thence in a direct line southerly to the Northeast
corner of Lot 3, Block 4, said New Vernon; thence in a
direct line westerly to the Northwest corner of Lot lA, said
Block 4; thence in a direct line northerly to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon elects
to handle these proceedings under the provisions of Division 9., Part 3 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
adopts as a map or plan of the proposed vacation of said East 46th Street,
the City Engineerts Drawing designated "A4-1314" and titled "Proposed
Vacation of Portion of East 46th Street (formerly Junior St.) in the City
of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, California" and directs that said map
or plan be filed in the City Clerk's office of the City of Vernon for particu-
lars as to the proposed vacation.
SECTION 4:
The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby fix the time for the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation, which time and place shall be March 15, 1955, at

2 Vernon, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.

SECTION 5:
The City Council of the City of Vernon directs
4 that notices of the proposed street vacation be posted conspicuously along
5 the line of the street proposed to be vacated, and such notices shall
6 state the passage of this Ordinance of Intention, and the time and place
7 of hearing for all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
8 vacation. Said notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and

10 street proposed to be vacated.
9 at least three (3) of such notices shall be posted along the line of said
SECT ION 6:
There being no newspaper printed, published
12 and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to
13 certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or cause
14 same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon.
15 to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the
16 northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the
17 bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305
18 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon, Los Angeles County. Cali-
19 fornia; that this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
20 days from and after the date of posting.
