AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO CLOSE- UP , VACATE AND ABANDON LUER ROAD IN THE CITY OF
VERNON.. COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES.. STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
That it is the intention of the City Council of
?
the City of Vernon to order the vacation of that certain public street in the
City of Vernon officially known and commonly referred to as Luer Road~

and more particularly described as follows:

All that certain real property situate in the City of Vernon~
County of Los Angeles~ State of California~ described as follows:
Those portions of Lots 15 and 16 of Tract No. 14256 as shown
on Map thereof recorded in Book 337 at pages 25 to 28~ inclusive, of
Maps in the Office of the County Recorder of said Los Angeles County.
and that portion of Lot 4 of the Chipley & Baker Tract as per map
thereof recorded as Case No. 2672 of the 17th Judicial District Court.
Records of said Los Angeles County~ all more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of a line that is parallel with
and distant Easterly 25 feet at right angles from the Easterly line of
said Lot 16 with the Northerly line of East 46th Street shown on said
Map of Tract No. 14256 as having a bearing of North 870 051 12" East;
thence from said point of beginning along said parallel line North 00
271 32" West 358.33 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave
Westerly having a radius of 162.50 feet; thence Northerly along said
curve a distance of 77.79 feet to a point of reverse curve, a tangent
at said point bearing North 270 531 11" West; thence Northerly on a
reverse curve concave Easterly having a radius of 371.28 feet through
a central angle of 270 251 39" a distance of 177. 73 feet to tangency with
a line that is parallel with and distant Easterly 28 feet at right angles
from the Westerly line of said Lot 15 as shown on said Map of Tract
No. 14256 as having a bearing of North 00 271 32" West; thence along
said last mentioned parallel line North 00 271 32" West 7.53 feet to
the Southerly line of East 45th Street as shown on said Map of Tract
No. 14256; thence South 880 27' 44" West 26.01 feet thereon to the
beginning of a curve concave Westerly having a radius of 9.25 feet
bearing South 750 581 31" West from said beginning of curve; thence
Southerly along said curve 2.19 feet to tangency with a line that is
parallel with and distant Easterly 2.25 feet at right angles from said
Westerly line of Lot 15; thence along said last mentioned parallel line
South 00 27' 32" East 3.00 feet; thence North 890 321 28" East 0.75
feet to a point in a line that is parallel with and distant Easterly 3.00
feet at right anR'les from said Westerly line of Lot 15. said point lying
South 00 27' 32 East along said last mentioned parallel line 5.19 feet
from said Southerly street line; thence along said last mentioned
parallel line South 00 27' 32" East 1. 87 feet to the beginning of a
tangent curve concave Easterly having a radius of 396.28 feet and
being concentric with and distant Westerly 25 feet at right angles from
the aforedescribed curve having a radius of 371.28 feet; thence Southerly
along said concentric curve through a central angle of 270 25' 39" a
distance of 189.70 feet to a point of reverse curve; thence Southerly

on a reverse curve concave Westerly having a radius of 137.50
feet and being concentric with and distant Westerly 25.00 feet
at right angles from the aforedescribed curve having a radius of
162.50 feet, a distance of 65.82 feet to tangency with the Easterly
line of said Lots 15 and 16 of said Tract No. 14256; thence along
said Easterly line of Lots 15 and 16 South 00 27' 32" East 347.19
feet to a point in said Easterly line that lies North 00 27' 32" West
12.21 feet from said Northerly line of East 46th Street; thence from
said last mentioned point South 890 32' 28" West 0.75 feet; thence
South 00 27( 32" East 3.00 feet to a point that lies North 00 27( 32"
West 9.23 feet from the Northerly line of East 46th Street shown on
said Map of Tract No. 14256 as having a bearing of North 890 24' 35"
East, said point being the beginning of a tangent curve concave
Northwesterly having a radius of 9.25 feet; thence Southwesterly
along said curve 14.51 feet to said Northerly line of East 46th Street;
thence North 890 24' 35" East 9.53 feet thereon to an angle point
therein; thence continuing along said Northerly street line North 870
05' 12" East 25.47 feet to the point of beginning; containing an area
of 0.3575 acres. more or less.
TOGETHER WITH an easement for a fire hydrant and neces-
sary appurtenances in connection therewith over a parcel of land,
Westerly of and adjoining the above described 25 foot strip of land.
more particularly described as follows:
A portion of Lot 15 of Tract 14256 as shown on Map thereof
recorded in Book 337 at pages 25 to 28. inclusive. of Maps in the
Office of the County Recorder of said Los Angeles County. more
particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of a line that is parallel with
and distant Easterly 25 feet at right angles from the Easterly line of
said Lot 16 with the Northerly line of said 46th Street; thence along
said parallel line North 00 27' 32" West 322.45 feet; thence South
890 32' 28" West 25.00 feet to a point in the Easterly line of said
Lot 15, said point being the true point of beginning for this descript-
ion; thence from said true point of beginning along said Easterly
Lot line North 00 2.7' 32" West 10.00 feet; thence South 890 32' 28"
West 5.00 feet; thence South 00 27' 32" East 10.00 feet; thence
North 890 32' 28" East 5.00 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon elects
to handle these proceedings under the provisions of Division 9. Part 3 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
adopts as a map or plan of the proposed vacation of said Luer Road the
City Engineer's drawing designated A4-1351 and titled "Proposed Vacation
of Luer Road in the City of Vernon. County of Los Angeles. State of
California" and directs that said map or plan be filed in the City Clerk's
office of the City of Vernon for particulars as to the proposed vacation.

SECTION 4:
The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby fix the time for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to

the proposed vacation, which time and place shall be
July 19.
1955, at 2 orclock p. m. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the
City of Vernon, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.

SECT ION 5:
The City Council of the City of Vernon

directs that notices of the proposed street vacation be posted conspicuously
8
along the line of the street proposed to be vacated, and such notices shall
9
state the passage of this Ordinance of Intention, and the time and place of
10
hearing for all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation.
11
Said notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at least three
(3) of such notices shall be posted along the line of said street proposed to
12

be vacated.

SECTION 6:
There being no newspaper printed, published
15 and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to
16 certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or cause same
17 to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit:
18 The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
19 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin
20 Board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe
21 Avenue, all in the City of Vernon, Los Angeles County, California; that
22 this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and
23 after the date of posting.
24 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 21 day of June, 1955.
