CI .J c( 8~~ u ::l ~ 31 J: 32 1 ORDINANCE NO. 687 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING ORDINANCE 3 NO. 642. 4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 5 6 Ordinance No. 642. Section 9 is amended by SECTION 1: 7 adding thereto the following provision: 8 "When. in the opinion of the City Council. it is necessary 9 for public safety or convenience to limit or restrict parking along any street in the City of Vernon it may. by resolution. order the Police Department to post signs limiting or restricting parking in said street or streets in conformance with this Ordinance or Resolu- tions hereafter adopted and thereupon and thereafter it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle in violation of said 1 t. " regu a ions. SECTION 2: There being no newspaper of general circula- tion printed. published and circulated in the City of Vernon. the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance. and shall post same. or cause same to be posted. in three of the most public places in said City. to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue. all in the City of Vernon. Los Angeles County. California. The same problem arises on badly faded mid-block crosswalks. It is unsafe for a pedestrian to use some of the crosswalks as a driver of a vehicle may not see the crosswalk until it is too late to keep from injurin~ a person using it. The undersigned has contacted either the City Clerk's Office or the Chiefs of Police of other cities and have found that they make "no charge" to the manufacturer for either painting or repainting on public streets and curbs.
