November 7, 19.5.5
Honorable City Council
City of Vernon,
California
Your Honorable Body:
It is requested that all repainting on streets and curbs
be done without' cost to the manufacturers and without request from
the manufacturers.
~mny of the No Parking, Limited Parking and Loading Zone
areas have become so badly faded that it presents a problem to both
manufacturers and officers as to whether or not a vehicle is legally
parked.
The same problem arises on badly faded mid-block crosswalks.
It is unsafe for a pedestrian to use some of the crosswalks as a
driver of a vehicle may not see the crosswalk until it is too late
to keep from injurin~ a person using it.
The undersigned has contacted either the City Clerk's Office
or the Chiefs of Police of other cities and have found that they make
"no charge" to the manufacturer for either painting or repainting on
public streets and curbs.
Your consideration and approval on this matter will be
greatly appreciated.
Respectfully submitted,
