CI ~ c( ~~~ l) : ~ 31 1: 32 ORDINANCE NO. 692 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO FILE A FALSE REPORT OF THE COMMISSION OF A CRIME WITH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF VERNO~. AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF. THE CITY COUNClL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful for any person. firm or corporation to make to. or file with. the Police Department of the City of Vernon any false. misleading. or unfounded statement or report concerning the commission or alleged commission of any crime occurring within the City of Verl1on. SECTION 2: Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. and upon con- viction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment for a period of not more than six (6) months in the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles. or in the City Jail of the City of Vernon. as the committing magistrate may direct. or by both such fine and imprison- mente SECTION 3: There being no newspaper of general circula- tion printed. published and circulated in the City of Vernon. the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance. and shall post same. or cause same to be posted. in three of the most public places in said City. to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue. all in the City of Vernon.
