AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
3 642 AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 687 OF SAID CITY.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1:
That the express purpose of this Ordinance
7 is to promote and safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants
8 of the City of Vernon; to facilitate the movement of traffic on city streets;
9 to relieve traffic congestion and vehicle parking conditions; to promote the
10 safety of pedestrians and all other persons using the Streets of the City of
11 Vernon.

SECTION 2:
Ordinance No. 642 is amended by adding
13 Section 13.1 thereto, which reads as follows:

"Section 13.1: The Chief of Police of the City of Vernon
is hereby authorized to determine the facts upon which this
Ordinance shall operate and may adopt such reas onable rules and
regulations as will tend to effectuate the express general purpose
of this Ordinance, including the selection and location of cross-
walks, boulevard stop signs, traffic control devices and the
designation of prohibited or restricted parking zones and the
time limits thereon. "
SECTION 3:
Ordinance No. 687 of the City of Vernon, and
23 all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
24 repealed.

SECTION 4:
There being no newspaper printed. published
and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to
certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or cause same
to be posted. in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon. to wit:
The Northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin
board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe

this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and
after the date of posting.
