ORDINANCE NO. 699
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 585 OF SAID CITY GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO UNION OIL
COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA1 A CALIFORNIA CORPORATION1 AND
TERMINATING PACIFIC INDEMNITY COMPANY'S FAITHFUL PERFOR-
MANCE BOND NO. 120968.
WHEREAS, the Union Oil Company of California, a California
corporation, has entered into a License with the City of Vernon for the
abandonment in place of certain franchise facilities as described in
franchise Ordinance No. 585. and has been granted a license to maintain
and operate 118 feet of 6" pipe line; and
WHEREAS, the Union Oil Company of California, a California
corporation, filed with the City of Vernon a faithful performance bond
being No. 120968 of the Pacific Indemnity Company, for the faithful per-
formance of the franchise granted by said Ordinance No. 585, which was
in the penal sum of $1.000.00 dated the 5th day of June. 1945;
NOW" THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Vernon
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1:
That Ordinance No. 585 of the City of Vernon
be. and the same is hereby repealed and all rights, privileges. and
franchise granted in said Ordinance No. 585 are hereby terminated.
SECTION 2:
That the franchise faithful performance bond
No. 120968 in the penal sum of $1.000.00 given to the City of Vernon by
Pacific Indemnity Company and the Union Oil Company of California, for
the faithful performance of the franchise granted by Ordinance No. 585 is
hereby terminated as of the effective date of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3:
There being no newspaper printed, published
and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to
certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall post the same or cause
the same to be posted in three of the most public places in the City of
Vernon. to wit: at the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue;
at the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on

4305 Santa Fe Avenue. all in the City of Vernon, Los Angeles County,
California; that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
days after the date of posting.
