ORDINANCE NO. 712
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON DECLARING ITS INTENTION
3 TO CLOSE-UP.. VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF 30TH STREET
(FORMERLY BETHEL STREET).. IN THE CITY OF VERNON.. COUNTY OF
4 LOS ANGELES.. STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
That it is the intention of the City Council of
the City of Vernon to order the vacation of a portion of that certain public
street in the City of Vernon officially known and commonly referred to as
30th Street. formerly Bethel Street.. and more particularly described as
follows:
That portion of 30th Street (formerly Bethel Street).. in
the City of Vernon.. County of Los Angeles. State of California..
as per map of Day Star Tract recorded in Book 25 at Page 66
of Miscellaneous Records in the office of the Recorder of said
County. described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Block J; thence
easterly to the northwest corner of Block K.. thence continuing
easterly along the north line of said Block K to the northeast
corner of said Block K. thence northeasterly along the east
line of said Day Star Tract to the southeast corner of Block G;
thence westerly along the south line of said Block G to the
southwest corner of said Block G.. thence continuing westerly
to the southeast corner of Block H; thence southerly to the
point of beginning.
SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon elects
21 to handle these proceedings under the provisions of Division 9. Page 3 of
22 the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.

SECTION 3:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
adopts as a map or plan of the proposed vacation of said 30th Street. the
City Engineer's Drawing designated A4-1484 and titled "Proposed Vacation
of Portion of 30th St. in the City of Vernon. California" and directs that
said map or plan be filed in the City Clerk's office of the City of Vernon for
particulars as to the proposed vacation.
SE CTION 4:
The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby fix the time for the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation. which time and place shall be April 15. 1958. at

1 2 o'clock p. m.) in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of
2 Vernon, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.

SE CTION 5:
The City Council of the City of Vernon directs
4 that notices of the proposed street vacation be posted conspicuously along
5 the line of the street proposed to be vacated. and such notices shall state the
6 passage of this Ordinance of Intention, and the time and place of hearing for
7 all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation. Said
8 notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at least three (3) of
9 such notices shall be posted along the line of said street proposed to be
10 vacated.

SECTION 6:
There being no newspaper printed. published and
12 circulated in the City of Vernon. the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify
13 to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or cause same to be
14 posted. in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit:
15 the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
16 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard. and on the bulletin board
17 in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.
18 all in the City of Vernon, Los Angeles County, California; that this Ordinanc
19 shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of
20 posting thereof.

NOTICE OF STREET VACATION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on April 1, 1958, the City
Council of the City of Vernon passed its Ordinance of Intention
No. 712 to vacate and abandon a portion of 30th Street, formerly
Bethel Street, more particularly described as follows:
That portion of 30th Street (formerly Bethel Street), in
the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
as per map of Day Star Tract recorded in Book 25 at Page 66
of Miscellaneous Records in the office of the Recorder of said
County, described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Block J; thence
easterly to the northwest corner of Block K, thence continuing
easterly along the north line of said Block K to the northeast
corner of said Block K, thence northeasterly along the east
line of said Day Star Tract to the southeast corner of Block G;
thence westerly along the south line of said Block G to the
southwest corner of said Block G, thence continuing westerly
to the southeast corner of Block H; thence southerly to the
point of beginning.
The City Council of the City of Vernon did fix the time and
place for the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed vacation, which time and place shall be April 15, 1958, at
2 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of
Vernon, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, California; for further particulars
reference is hereby made to Ordinance of Intention No. 712 and the City
Engineer's drawing designated "A4-1484" and titled "Proposed Vacation
of Portion of 30th St. in the City of Vernon, California", both of which
are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Vernon.
