AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO
THE ATCHISON~ TOPEKA AND SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY~ A
CORPORATION" ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS" TO OPERATE AND
MAINTAIN A SPUR TRACK ACROSS 52ND STREET IN THE CITY OF VERNON
AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 491" AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES
OR RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
The City Council of the City of Vernon finds that The Atchison.
7 I Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company. a corporation. is a steam railroad

10 I THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
engaged in interstate commerce.

SECTION 1:
That a franchise be, and the same is hereby
12 granted to The Atchison. Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company. a corpora-
13 tion. its successors and assigns. for a term of fifty (50) years. to lay.
14 construct. maintain. use and operate a railroad spur track known as Track
15 No. 33. across 52nd Street in the City of Vernon. County of Los Angeles.
16 State of California. the center line of said spur track is described as follows:
17 Track No. 33 across the north half of 52nd Street:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of Fifty-second
Street. distant 629.65 feet easterly from the northeast corner
of said Fifty-second Street and Santa Fe Avenue; thence
southwesterly on a curve concave to the northwest with a radius
of 764.489 feet. a distance of 30.03 feet to a point in the center
line of said Fifty-second Street. or south boundary line of City
of Vernon. distant 665.59 feet easterly from the intersection
of center lines of said Fifty-second Street and Santa Fe Avenue.
For further particulars. and as a part hereof. reference is
hereby made to the application for said Franchise dated February 20. 1957.
SECTION 2:
The right. privilege and permission hereby
granted shall be exercised and enjoyed subject to the terms and conditions
as set forth in Ordinance No. 701 heretofore adopted by the City of Vernon.
and the acceptance of this Franchise or any of the rights or privileges
granted hereby shall evidence the Granteets agreement to all of the terms
and conditions of said Ordinance No. 701.
SECTION 3:
Ordinance No. 491. and all ordinances or
resolutions. or parts of ordinances and resolutions, in conflict herewith

1 are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4:
There being no newspaper printed. published
3 and circulated in the City of Vernon. the City Clerk is hereby directed to
4 certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same. or cause same
5 to be posted. in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon. to wit:
6 the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
7 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard. and on the bulletin board
8 in the lobby of the City Hall of said City. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.
9 all in the City of Vernon. Los Angeles County. California. That this
10 Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after
11 the date of posting thereof.
