3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 648 HERETOFORE ADOPTED BY SAID CITY.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS-

SECTION 1:
That Ordinance No. 648 be amended to

change the title of the Administrative Assistant to the City Council to
"Administrative Officer".
SECTION 2:
That wherever in said Ordinance No. 648 the
words "Administrative Assistant to the City Council" appear. that there
be substituted in place thereof the words "Administrative Officer".
SECTION 3:
In all other respects said Ordinance No. 648
shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4:
There being no newspaper printed. published
and circulated in the City of Vernon. the City Clerk is hereby directed to
certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same. or cause same

to be posted. in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon. to wit:
at the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard. and on the bulletin
board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City. located at 4305 Santa Fe

Avenue. all in the City of Vernon. Los Angeles County. California.
That
this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and
after the date of posting thereof.

Re: Change of title, Administrative Assistant to
the City Council to "Administrative Officer"
The Honorable City Council:
The present title authorized for the Administrative Assis-
tant to the City Council presents practical difficulties
insofar as the ability of most people to remember it.
Variations in use range from the use of Executive Assistant
through a considerable range of inaccuracies.
In the interest of simplification, it is requested that
authority be granted to change the present title to the
more appropriate and simple title of "Administrative Officer".
The latter title would not carry any meaning which is to be
associated with the titles of Chief Administrative Officer
or City Manager which are in force in other municipalities.
