ORDINANCE NO. 727
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING THE ANNEXATION
OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY.. DESIGNATED "BANDINI
ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of June. 1959, the Council of the
City of Vernon did pa~s and adopt Resolution No. 2281 giving notice of the
proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Vernon. said
territory being therein designated as "Bandini Annexation". said Resolution
describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS. said Resolution No. 2281 did contain a notice of the
day. hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear
protests made by any person owning real property within the territory
proposed to be annexed. the time of said hearing being not less than forty
nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 11th day of August. 1959. at the hour of 10
olc1ock a. m., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Vernon,
County of Los Angeles. State of California, said time and place being the
day. hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 2281 for hearing protests
to the said annexation, no written protests having been filed and no person
personally appearing before the City Council protesting said annexation; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Vernon,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW~ THEREFORE.. BE IT ORDAINED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to
the City of Vernon, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be
and is hereby annexed to the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That said territory, the annexation of
which to the City of Vernon is herein approved, is all that territory situate

in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northwesterly line of
Atlantic Boulevard (formerly Atlantic Avenue) and the northeasterly
boundary of the City of Vernon as per map filed in book 3 at page 19
of Official Maps, in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County.
California; thence generally northeasterly along the generally north-
westerly line of said Atlantic Boulevard to a point in that certain
curve in the Southerly line of Bandini Boulevard~ described as having
a radius of 30 feet in deed to the County of Los Angeles recorded
February 24" 1925 in Book 3860" Page 214" Official Records of said
County; thence Northeasterly in a direct line to the most Westerly
corner of the parcel of land (for Atlantic Boulevard) described in deed
to the County of Los Angeles recorded June 1" 1936 in Book 14186. Page
110. Official Records of said County; thence Northeasterly along the
Northwesterly line of said last mentioned deed, Northeasterly along
the Northwesterly line of Atlantic Boulevard (formerly Atlantic Avenue)
as des cribed in deed to the County of Los Angeles recorded May 9,
1936 in Book 14074, ~age 297~ Official Records of said County, North-
easterly along the Northwesterly line of Atlantic Boulevard (formerly
Atlantic Avenue) described as Parcel 1 in deed to the County of Los
Angeles recorded December 20" 1935 in Book 13900, Page 29. Official
Records of said County and continuing northeasterly along the north-
easterly prolongation of that certain course described as having a
bearing of North 480 48' 39" East in said last mentioned deed" to the
northerly line of East 26th Street as shown on said map; thence
westerly along said northerly line to a southeasterly corner of the
boundary of the City of Vernon, as shown on said map; thence con-
tinuing westerly along said last mentioned boundary and following the
same in all its various courses to the point of beginning.
SECTION 3:
There being no newspaper printed" publishe
and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to
certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same. or cause same
to be posted" in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon. to wit:
The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin board
in the lobby of the City Hall of said City. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.
all in the City of Vernon, Los Angeles County. California; that this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of
posting.
