ORDINANCE NO. 732
3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING THE ANNEXA-
TION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "VERNON-
4 RIVERSIDE ANNEXATION NO.2" TO THE CITY OF VERNON.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of February.. 1960, the Council of the
City of Vernon did pass and adopt Resolution No. 2320 giving notice of the
proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Vernon. said
territory being therein designated as "Vernon-Riverside Annexation No.2",
said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 2320 did contain a notice of the
day.. hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear
protests made by any person owning real property within the territory
proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty
nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 29th day of March, 1960, at the hour of
10:00 o'clock a. m., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles.. State of California, said time and place
being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 2320 for he~ring
protests to the said annexation and said hearing was continued to the 24th
day of May, 1960 and continued again to the 19th day of July# 1960 and
continued again to the 6th day of September, 1960 at the hour of 2:00 o'clock
p. m., and no written protests having been filed and no person personally
appearing before the City Council protesting said annexation; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Vernon,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Vernon, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory

1 be and is hereby annexed to the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That said territory, the annexation of
which to the City of Vernon is herein approved, is all that territory situate
in the County of Los Angeles, State of California.. more particularly
described as folloW's:
Beginning at the intersection of the northwesterly line of
Atlantic Boulevard (formerly Atlantic Avenue) and the northeasterly
boundary of the City of Vernon as per map filed in book 3 at page 19
of Official Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County#
California; thence southeasterly along said northeasterly boundary
to the true point of beginning at a northeasterly corner of the boundary
of the City of Vernon as shown on said map; thence southwesterly
along said Vernon City boundary and following the same in all its
various courses to an intersection with the boundary of the City of
Maywood as it existed on December 1, 1959; thence southerly along
said last mentioned boundary and following the same in all its various
courses to the northerly line of Parcel No. 1 described in Final
Judgment of Case No. 466051 of the Superior Court of the State of
California in and for the County of Los Angeles recorded in book
18919 at page 288 of Official Records in the office of the Recorder
of said county; thence easterly along said northerly line to the
northerly line of Slauson Avenue as shown on map of Tract 7923
filed in book 113 at page 80 of Maps in the office of the Recorder of
said county; thence easterly along said northerly line of Slauson
Avenue and the prolongation thereof to the southeasterly corner of
Lot 109 of said Tract 7923; thence southeasterly to the north-
westerly corner of that parcel of land described in deed recorded
in book 18618 at page 32 of Official Records in the office of the
Recorder of said county; thence northwesterly along the south
line of the Los Angeles River flood control right of way and its
northwesterly prolongation as shown on map of said Tract 7923
to the true point of beginning.
SECTION 3:
There being no newspaper printed#
published and circulated in the City of Vernon.. the City Clerk is hereby
directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or
cause same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of
Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue;
the northeast corner of Le onis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the
bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305
Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon# Los Angeles County# California;
that this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from
and after the date of posting.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 20th day of September#
