ORDINANCE NO. 733
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING THE ANNEXATION
OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY. DESIGNATED 1ft BANDINI
ANNEXATION NO.2" TO THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of September, 1960, the Council of the
City of Vernon did pass and adopt Resolution No. 2376 giving notice of the
proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Vernon, said
territory being therein designated as "Bandini Annexation No.2".. said
Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed;
and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 2376 did contain a notice of the
day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear
protests made by any person owning real property within the territory
proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty
nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of October, 1960.. at the hour of 2:00
o'clock p. m... in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Vernon..
County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place being the
day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 2376 for hearing protests
to the said annexation, no written protests having been filed and no person
personally appearing before the City Council protesting said annexation; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Vernon,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW.. THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to
the City of Vernon, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be
and is hereby annexed to the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That said territory, the annexation of
which to the City of Vernon is herein approved, is all that territory situate

in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly prolongation
of the easterly line of the parcel of land deeded to Ladd C. Leopold
and recorded in Book D 819 at page 572 of Official Records in the
office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California and the
northerly line of John R. Taylor's Vernon Avenue Villa Lots as
per map recorded in Book 4 at page 42 of Maps in the office of said
Recorder, said point of intersection being on the boundary of the
City of Vernon; thence continuing westerly along said last mentioned
boundary as it existed on July 26, 1960 and following the same in all
its various courses to an intersection with the southerly prolonga-
tion of said easterly line of land deeded to Ladd C. Leopold; thence
northerly along said easterly line and prolongations to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 3:
There being no newsp.aper printed, publishe
11 and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to
12 certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or cause same
13 to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit:
14 The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
15 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin board
16, in the lobby of the City Hall of said City.. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
17 all in the City of Vernon, Los Angeles County, California; that this ordiance
18 shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of
19 posting.
