ORDINANCE NO.
743
2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON ESTABLISHING A SETBACK
LINE WITHIN WHICH NO PERMANENT STRUCTURE MAY BE ERECTED
3 ALONG BANDINI BOULEVARD WITHIN FIFTY FEET (50') OF THE CENTER
LINE OF SAID BANDINI BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF VERNON.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon does
71 hereby find and determine that the recommendation of the City Council and
8 I Planning Commission dated September 4, 1962, urging the establishment of
9 a building setback line along Bandini Boulevard within fifty feet (50') of the
10 center line of said Bandini Boulevard, in the City of Vernon, be adopted.

SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon does
12 hereby find, determine and declare that public peace, health, safety and
13 welfare require establishment of a building setback line along Bandini Boule-
14 vard, within fifty feet (50') of the center line of said Bandini Boulevard, in
15 the City of Vernon.

SECTION 3:
That the 2nd day of October, 1962 at 2:00
o'clock p. m., in the Council Chambers at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, is the
time and place for the hearing of all persons interested in the establish-
ment of said setback line. That the Los Angeles Daily Journal is a new s-
paper of general circulation published in the County of Los Angeles, State of
California, and notice of said hearing shall be published therein at least ten
(10) days before the hearing.
SECTION 4:
That no person shall be issued a permit for
the construction of any building prohibited by this ordincn ce from and after
the date of its adoption.
SECTION 5:
Any person who violates any provision, or who
fails to comply with any requirement of this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of
not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment in the City
or County Jail for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such
fine and imprisonment.

SECTION 6:
There being no newspaper printed~ published
2 and circulated in the City of Vernon~ the City Clerk is hereby directed to
3 certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same~ or cause same
4 to be posted. in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon~ to wit:
5 The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast
6 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin
7 board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City~ located at 4305 Santa Fe
.
8 Avenue. all in the City of Vernon, Los Angeles County~ California; that
9 this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and
10 after the date of posting.

Herewith is a proposed Ordinance establishing building set-
back lines on Bandini Boulevard. This ordinance will continue the
previous County setback ordinance. Bandini Boulevard is a major
highway of eventual 100 foot right-of-way. It links Vernon with the
Long Beach Freeway and is carried as a major highway in the maps
of Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission.
It is recommended that this Ordinance be adopted.
