For the purpose of this Ordinance, 6 certain words and terms are defined and shall be construed as herein set forth 7 unless otherwise expressly stated, or the context clearly indicates a different 8 intention. 9 A. ANYTHING OF VALUE. As used in this Ordinance.. Ilanything 10 of value" means money, coin.. currency, check.. chip, allowance, token, credit 11 merchandise, property" article" or anything representative of value. 12 B. GAMBLING. Conducting" maintaining or playing any game 13 not mentioned in Sections 330 or 330a of the Penal Code of the State of Californi 14 for anything of value. 15 SECTION 2: It shall be unlawful to play any game not mentioned 16 in Sections 330 or 330a of the Penal Code of the State of California for anything 17 of value in the City of Vernon. 18 SECTION 3: Ordinance No. 273 and all Ordinances in conflict 19 herewith hereby are repealed. 20 SECTION 4: VALIDITY. Should any section.. subsection.. claus " 21 or provision of this Ordinance for any reason beheld to be invalid or uncon- 22 stitutional.. such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or 23 constitutionality of the remaining portions of this Ordinance; it being hereby 24 Ii expressly declared that this Ordinance and each section.. subsection.. sentence" 25 26 27 clause, and phrase hereof would have been prepared, proposed, approved, and adopted irrespective of the fact that anyone or more sections.. subsections.. sentences.. clauses" or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 5: VIOLATION. PENALTY. No person shall violate any provision or fail to comply with any of the requirements of this Ordinance. Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the requirements of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Each such person shall be guilty of a separate offense for 4 each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of 5 this Ordinance is committed.. continued, or permitted by such person and shall 6 be punishable accordingly. 7 SECTION 6: There is no newspaper printed and published within 8 said City of Vernon.
