1 ORDINANCE NO. 757
2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON"
CALIFORNIA" CONSENTING TO ESTABLISHMENT OF A PORTION OF
3 DOWNEY ROAD"ET AL" WITHIN SAID CITY AS A PART OF THE
SYSTEM OF COUNTY HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES.

5 WHEREAS. the Board of Supervisors did duly adopt a Resolution
6 declaring Downey Road" et al" between Bandini Boulevard and four hundred
7 feet (400') North of Washington Street as a part of the system of highways of
8 the County of Los Angeles" all as provided in Sections 1700 to 1704" inclusive..
9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and
10 WHEREAS.. said Board of Supervisors by said Resolution requested
11 this Council to give its consent to improve said road within said portion
12 described above;
13 NOW.. THEREFORE" THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
14 VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
Consent to Inclusion in County Highway System.
16 This City Council does hereby consent to the establishment of Downey Road, et
17 al, between Bandini Boulevard and four hundred feet (400') North of Washington
IS Boulevard as a part of the system of highways of the County of Los Angeles as
19 provided in Sections 1700 to 1704.. inclusive.. of the Streets and Highways Code
20 of the State of California.

SECTION 2:
Improvements of Road.
Consent is hereby given
22 for the improvement of the above described road by the County of Los Angeles..
23 in conformity with its standard plans and specifications for such a road, or sue
24 other plans and specifications as may be approved by this City Council.

SECTION 3:
Certification to County.
The City Clerk is hereby
directed to forward a certified copy of this Ordinance to the Clerk of the Board
of Supervisors of Los Angeles County.
SECTION 4:
Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall go into
effect and be in full force and operation from and after thirty (30) days after its
final passage and adoption.
SECTION 5: There is no newspaper printed and published
within said City of Vernon. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and

1 adoption of this Ordinance and to its approval by the Mayor and thereupon said
2 Ordinance shall be posted by or under the direction of the City Clerk in three
3 (3) public places in said City of Vernon.. to wit:
4 (l) Bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon
5 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.
6 (2) Northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue.
(3) Northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard.

RESOLUT.ICN DECLARING A PORTION OF DOWNEY ROAD IN THE
CITY OF VERNON TO BE A PART OF THE COUNTY SYSTEM OF HIGHWAYS
1 WHEREAS, by reason of its location and travel thereon, the hereinafter
2 described street in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of
3 California, should be a part of the System of County Highways in said County;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the Board of Supervisors of said County to
6 acquire the necessary rights of way and construct improvements thereon provided
7 the consent to the governing body shall first be given:
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
9 of Los Angeles, State of California, that the following named street between
10 the limits thereof indicated in the table below, and being within the City of
11 Ver.pon is hereby declared to be a part of the System of Highways of said
12 County as provided in Sections 1700 and 1704 inclusive of the Streets and
13 Highways Code of the State of California for the purpose of and limited to
14 the aforementioned acquisition of rights of way and improvements.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that the Clerk of the
16 Board of Supervisors is hereby instructed to transmit a certified copy of this
17 Resolution to the City of Vernon for its consideration. with a request that
18 said City send conformed copies of their Ordinance to this Board, to
19 Mr. N. H. Templin, Road Commissioner, and to Mr. Robert B. Heuer, Director,
20 Department of Real Estate Management.
