ORDINANCE NO. 775
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING LICENSE ORDINANCE
NO. 710 BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 26.1.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
That Ordinance No. 710 of the City of Vernon
6 licensing for the prupose of revenue and regulation of businesses conducted in
7 the City of Vernon is hereby amended by adding Section 26.1 thereto.

SECTION 2:
That Section 26.1 shall read as follows:
CENTRAL STATION INDUSTRIAL PROTECTIVE SERVICE:
10 (a) Every person engaged in conducting a central station protective signal
11 ing system for watchmen, fire alarm or supervisory service shall pay a mini-
12 mum license of $50.00 per annum, to be paid at the time of applying for or
13. renewal of license.
14 (b) The Licensee shall pay to the City of Vernon 20/0 of the gross receipts
15 of business arising from licensee IS operations conducted in the City of Vernon,
16 less the sum of $50.00, when 20/0 of the gross receipts exceeds $50.00.
17 (c) Definitions:
"Protective Systems II include, but are not restricted to, automatic
sprinklers, standpipes, carbon dioxide systems, automatic covers and other
devices used for extinguishing fires, and for controlling temperatures or other
conditions dangerous to life or property.
"Protective Signaling Systems 11 are electrically operated circuits,
instruments, or devises~ together with the necessary electrical energy, designe
to transmit alarms or supervisory or trouble signals, necessary for the protec-
tion of life or property.
"Central Station Systemsll are systems or groups of systems, the oper
ation of which are signaled to, recorded in, maintained or supervised from a
central station for the protection of life or property.
SECTION 3: Ordinance No. 674 is specifically repealed, and
any Ordinance, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
SECTION 4: There being no newspaper printed, published and

circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to

1 the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or cause same to be posted,
2 in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest
:3 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corn. r of Leonis
4 Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
5 City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon
6 that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and
7 after the date of posting.
8 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 15th day of February, 1966.
