ORDINANCE NO. 777
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA STAT
EMPLOYEES! RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
That an amendment to the Contract between the
City Council of the City of Vernon and the Board of Administration, California
State Employeest Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy of said
amendment being attached hereto, marked 'JExhibit A", and by such reference
made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
SECTION 2:
The Mayor of the City of Vernon is hereby
12 authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said amendment for and on
13. behalf of said Agency.

There being no newspaper printed, published
SECTION 3:
15 and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify
16 to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post same, or cause same to be
17 posted, in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the
18 northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of
19 Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin board in the lobby
20 of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City
21 of Vernon, Los Angeles County, California; that this Ordinance shall be in full
22 force and effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of posting~

1 AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION
STATE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH
2 CITY OF VERNON.
3 The Board of Administration, State Employees I Retirement System,
4 hereinafter referred to as Board, and the City Council of the City of Vernon,
5 hereinafter referred to as Public Agency, having entered into a contract under
6 date of October 23, 1948, effective November 1, 1948, and as amended effective
7 April 1, 1956 and October 1, 1960, which provides for participation of Public
8 Agency in said System, Board and Public Agency hereby agree as follows:
The following subparagraph shall be added to Paragraph 7 of said Contract:
7 (j) Section 21251. 6 of the Government Code (providing for increases in
allowances payable for time commencing on the first day of the
calendar month coinciding with or next following the effective date
of this amendment to persons retired prior to January 1, 1962).
Paragraph 8 (a) shall be amended to read as follows:
8 (a) 3.402 percent of total salaries reported for members in each payroll
reporting period until October 31,1973 on account of the liability
for prior service benefits.
18 C. Paragraph 8(b) shall be amended to read as follows:

8 (b) 7.086 percent of total salaries reported by Public Agency each pay-
roll reporting period to its employees who are and hereafter become
members of said Retirement System, provided that only salary
earned as members of said System shall be included in said total
salaries.
24 D. Paragraph 8(e) shall be stricken from said Contract.
25 E. This amendment shall be attached to said Contract and shall become effec-
~6 tive on the 1st day of July, 1966
