ORDINANCE NO. 783~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON FIXING THE RATES TO BE CHARGED
FOR OUTDOOR AREA LIGHTING SERVICE BY THE CITY OF VERNON WITHIN
ITS BOUNDARIES:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The rates to be charged and collected, and
6 the terms, provisions, and conditions respecting the distribution
7 of outdoor area lighting service rendered on and after the
8 effective date of this Ordinance, shall be those rates, terms,
9 provisions, and conditions as set forth in Southern California
10 Edison Company Advice Letter No. 316-E, concerning rate schedule
11 No. OL-l for an outdoor area lighting service rate schedule, said
12 Advice Letter being incorporated herein at this point for all
13 purposes as if set forth in full.

SECTION 2: The rules and regulations respecting the
15 distribution of electrical energy of the supplying of outdoor area
16 lighting service supplied by the City of Vernon shall be those
17 rules and regulations of the Southern California Edison Company
18 applicable to electrical service in the City of Vernon and filed
191 with the City Clerk of the City of Vernon on December 27, 1961.
20 The City Council of the City of Vernon may from time
21 to time authorize by resolution, changes in the rules and regulati ns
22 applicable to said electric service, not in conflict with rate
23 schedules, relating to conditions of service and application, and
24 interpretation of rates, and relating to other provisions set fort
25 in this Ordinance.

SECTION 3: Any provision of the rules and regulations
27 of the Southern California Edison Company relating to the exercise
28 of jurisdiction by the Public utilities Commission of the state of
29 California shall be deemed to refer to and mean the City Council
30 of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: Ordinance No. 749 of the City of Vernon is
32 hereby deemed to still remain in full force and effect, and not t

1 have been repealed by Ordinance No. 766 or this Ordinance of the
2 City of Vernon, and the allowance or credit given pursuant to
~ Ordinance No. 749 or any resolutions adopted pursuant thereto
4 shall remain in full force and effect, and shall be applicable to
5 the rates for outdoor area lighting service as set forth in this
6 Ordinance.

SECTION 5' The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
8 hereby directed to maintain three (3) copies of the above men-
9 tioned rate schedules and rules and regulations applicable to
10 electric service in the City of Vernon for outdoor area lighting
11 service, and any other appropriate services, and to make tariff

schedules available upon request for examination in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 6: It is not contemplated that any ordinance
15 relating to rates for electrical service as previously adopted by
16 the City Council of the City of Vernon shall be repealed or other-
17 wise altered or amended by this Ordinance excepting as the same
18 may conflict with this Ordinance for outdoor area lighting service,
19 and insofar as the same conflict with rates or services rendered
20 for outdoor area lighting service, all ordinances or parts or
21 sections thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 7: There being no newspaper printed, published,
23 or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby
24 directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall
25 post the same, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the
26 most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest
27 corner of 38th street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner
28 of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin
29 board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at
30 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon, County of Los
31 Angeles, state of california; that this Ordinance shall be in
32 full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after the final

post three (3) copies of Ordinance No. 783, one in each of the

Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin board in
