1 ORDINANCE NO. 786
2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON FIXING THE RATES FOR STREET AND
HIGHWAY LIGHTING BY THE CITY OF VERNON WITHIN ITS BOUNDARIES.

4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The rates to be charged and collected, and
the terms, provisions and conditions respecting the distribution
of street and highway lighting for both customer owned installa-
tions and utility owned systems shall be those rates, terms, and
provisions and conditions as set forth in Southern California
Edison Company Advice Letter No. 320-E, concerning rate schedules
No. LS-l, lighting - street and highway, utility owned system, and
LS-2, lighting - street and highway, customer owned installation,
said Advice Letter being incorporated herein at this point for all
purposes as if set forth in full.
SECTION 2: To the extent that Ordinance No. 766, pro-
16 viding for lighting - street and highway - utility owned system,
17 and lighting - street and highway - customer owned installation
18 conflicts herewith, that portion and only that portion of Ordinance
19 No. 766 is hereby repealed.

SECTION 3: The rules and regulations respecting the
distribution of electrical energy for the supplying of street and
highway lighting service supplied by the City of Vernon shall be
those rules and regulations of the Southern California Edison
Company applicable to electrical service in the City of Vernon and
filed with the City Clerk of the City of Vernon on December 27,
1961.
The City Council of the City of Vernon may from time to
time authorize by resolution changes in the rules and regulations
applicable to said electric service, not in conflict with rate
schedules, relating to conditions of service and application, and
interpretation of rates, and relating to other provisions set
forth in this Ordinance.

SECTION 4: Any provision of the rules and regulations
of the Southern California Edison Company relating to the exer-
cise of jurisdiction by the Public utilities Commission of the
state of California shall be deemed to refer to and mean the
City Council of the City of VernoD.
SECTION 5: Ordinance No. 749 of the City of Vernon is
hereby deemed to still remain in full force and effect, and not to
have been repealed by Ordinance No. 766, Ordinance No. 783, or
this Ordinance of the City of Vernon, and the allowance or credit
given pursuant to Ordinance No. 749 or any resolutions adopted
pursuant thereto shall remain in full force and effect, and shall
be applicable to the rates LS-l, lighting - street and highway,
utility owned system, and LS-2, lighting - Street and Highway,
customer owned installation, as set forth in this Ordinance.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to maintain three (3) copies of the above men-
tioned rate schedules and rules and regulations applicable to
electric service in the City of Vernon for street and highway
lighting service, and any other appropriate services, and to make
tariff schedules available upon request for examination in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 7: It is not contemplated that any ordinance re-
lating to rates for electrical service as previously adopted by the
City Council of the City of Vernon shall be repealed or otherwise
altered or amended by this Ordinance excepting as the same may con-
flict with this Ordinance for street and highway lighting service,
and insofar as the same conflict with rates or services rendered fo
street and highway light service all ordinances or parts or sec-
tions thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 8: There being no newspaper printed, published,
or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby
directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall post

California; that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty (30) days from and after the final passage of the same.
