ORDINANCE NO. 797
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO THE
ATCHISON, TOPEKA AND SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY, A CORPORATION, ITS
SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A SPUR TRACK IN,
ALONG, AND ACROSS 46TH STREET IN THE CITY OF VERNON, AND REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
The City Council of the City of Vernon finds that The
6 Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, a corporation, is a
7 railroad engaged in interstate commerce.
8 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That a franchise be, and the same is hereby
10 granted to The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Company, a
11 corporation, its successors and assigns, for a term of fifty (50)
12 years, to lay, construct, maintain, use and operate a railroad
13 spur track in, along, and across 46th Street, in the City of
14 Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of California, the center
15 line of said spur track described as follows:
16 Beginning at a point in the westerly line of Pacific
Boulevard, distant 8.5 feet northerly at right angles
17 from the southerly line of 46th Street; thence easterly
parallel to and distant 8.5 feet northerly at right angles
18 from said southerly line of 46th Street a distance of 273.6
feet; thence southeasterly on a curve concave to the south-
19 west with a radius of 287.94 feet, a distance of 90.16 feet
to a point of ending in the south line of 46th Street.

SECTION 2: The right, privilege and permission hereby
22 granted shall be exercised and enjoyed subject to the terms and
23 conditions as set forth in Ordinance No. 701 heretofore adopted
24 by the City of Vernon, and the acceptance of this Franchise or
25 any of the rights or privileges granted hereby shall evidence the
26 GranteeVs agreement to all of the terms and conditions of said

27 Ordinance No. 701.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
29 conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper printed, published
31 and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby
32 directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall

1 post same, or cause same to be posted, in three of the most public
2 places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of
3 38th street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis
~ Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin board in the
5 lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe

7 that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
8 days from and after the date of posting.
