ORDINANCE NO. 799
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO DISPENSE
:1"000 OR DRINK FROM ANY TRUCK, MEAL CART, WAGON, STAND OR VEHICLE
LOCATED UPON THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF ANY PUBLIC STREET, ALLEY, OR
PUBLIC PLACE WITHIN THE CITY OF VERNON, AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION l: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm
7 or corporation, either as owner, agent, employee or otherwise,
8 to sell or dispense food or drink from any truck, meal or eating
10 street, alley, or other public place, without the consent of the
9 cart, wagon, stand, or vehicle upon the right-of-way of any public
11 owner or occupant thereof, within the boundaries of the City of
12 Vernon.

SECTION 2: Any person, firm or corporation violating
14 any of the provisions of this Ordinance is guilty of a misdemeanor
....
15 and punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars
16 ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the County Jail of the County of
17 Los Angeles, or in the City Jail of the City of Vernon, as the
18 committing magistrate may direct, for not more than six (6) months
19 or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the
21
20 Court.
SECTION 3: That Ordinances Nos. 203 and 709 and all
22 other ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith be,
23 and the same are hereby repea~ed.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper printed, published
25 and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby
26 directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall
27 post the same, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the
28 most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest
29 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner
30 of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin
31 board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at
32 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon, County of Los

1 Angeles, California. That this Ordinance shall be in full force
2 and effect thirty (30) days from and after the final passage of
:3 the same.
