2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING SECTIONS 9 AND 10
OF ORDINANCE NO. 722 OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO.
3 729.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
Section 9 of Ordinance No. 722 is hereby
6 amended to read as follows:

"SECTION 9: FOHMAL CONTRACT PROCEDURE.
Except as otherwise provided herein, purchases and
contracts for supplies, services, equipment and the
sale of personal property of estimated value greater
than $3,500.00 shall be by written contract with the
lowest or highest responsible bidder,as the case may
be, pursuant to the procedure prescribed herein."
SECTION 2: Section 10 of Ordinance No. 722 is hereby
15 amended to read as follows:

"SECTION 10: OPEN MARKET PROCEDUHE.
Purchases of supplies, equipment, contractual services,

and sales of personal property of an estimated value
in the amount of $3,500.00 or less may be made by the
Purchasing Agent in the open market without observing
the procedure prescribed in Section 9.t!
SECTION 3: That all sub-sections of Sections 9 and 10,
23 and all other provisions of Ordinance No. 722 shall remain in
24 full force and effect. That Ordinance No. 729 is hereby repealed.
25 SECTION 4: There being no newspaper printed, published
26 and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby
27 directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall
28 post the same, or cause same to be posted, in three of the most
2-9 public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest
30 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner
31 of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; and on the bulletin
32 board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at

,1 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon, Los Angeles
2 County California; that this Ordinance shall be in full force
3 and effect thirty (30) days from and after the adoption of the
4 same.
