.1 ORDINANCE NO. 808
2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 788.

4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Section 5 of Ordinance No. 788 is hereby
6 amended to read as follows: "Any deed, instrument or writing
to which the United States or any agency or instrumentality
thereof, any state or territory, or political subdivision
thereof, is a party shall be exempt from any tax imposed
pursuant to this Ordinance when the exempt agency is acquiring
title.1t
SECTION 2- Excepting as Ordinance No. 788 may be
amended by this Ordinance, the same shall remain in full force
and effect.
SECTION 3- Upon the adoption of this Ordinance the City
16 Clerk of the City of Vernon shall file two copies of this
17 Ordinance with the County Recorder of Los Angeles County.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
tion printed, published and circulated in the City of Vernon,
the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the passage of
this Ordinance and shall post the same, or cause the same to be
posted, in three of the most public places in said City, to wit:
The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the
northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and
on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of said
City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon,
Los Angeles County, California. That this Ordinance shall be in
full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after the final
adoption of this Ordinance.
