.1 ORDINANCE NO. 809
2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON PROVIDING FOR SUBDIVISION MAP
CHECKING FEES, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 762 OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS =
5
SECTION 1: That at the time of filing any final sub-
6 division map the subdivider shall pay to the City, or to the
7 County of Los Angeles, the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00)
8 per map, plus an additional Five Dollars ($5.00) per lot included
9 therein as a map checking fee pursuant to the provisions of
10 Sections l1593(b) and 11529, Business and Professions Code, and a
11 City-County agreement for map check services.

SECTION 2: Ordinance No. 762 of the City of Vernon, and
13 any other Ordinances or portions thereof in conflict with this
14 ordinance, are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. There being no newspaper of general circula-
16 tion printed, published, and circulated in the City of Vernon,
17 the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the passage of
18 this Ordinance and shall post the same, or cause the same to be
19 posted, in three of the most public places in said City, to wit:
20 The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the
21 northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard,
22 and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of said
23 City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon,
24 Los Angeles County, California. That this Ordinance shall be in
25 full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after the final
26 adoption of this Ordinance.

By letter dated December 17, 1969, the County
Engineer has advised that the Board of Supervisors has approved an
Ordinance increasing subdivision map checking fees to $200.00 per
map plus $5. 00 per lot. These services are performed pursuant to
the provisions of the Business and Professions Code and a city-
county agreement.
In accordance with the above, it is recommended
that Ordinance No. 762 be repealed and that a new ordinance be
adopted increasing the fees.

SUBDIVISION ~MP CHECKING FEES
Increased costs in the checking of final tract maps
have warranted analysis of the fees charged by the
County Engineer. A recent review by the County
Auditor-Controller indicated that. an increase was
justified. On December 2, 1969, the Board of Super-
visors approved Ordinance No. 9926 increasing the
fees.
The effective date for this change will be January 2,
1970. On this date, checking fees for all new sub-
division maps submitted to this office will be
$200.00 per map plus $5 per lot. Fees paid to the
Regional Planning Commission after this date cannot
be applied to the County Engineer's checking fee.
Fees paid to the Regional Planning Commission prior
to this date will be applied to final maps submitted
after January 2, 1970, at the new rate.
All maps, falling within an incorporated city and
submitted to the County Engineer for checking after
January 2, 1970, must be accompanied by the new fee.

REVISED SUBDIVISION !.1AP CHECKING FEES
A recent review by the County Auditor-Controller of the fees
charged by the County Engineer for checking final tract maps
indicated that an increase in fees was necessary to recover
the cost of providing this service. On December 2, 1969, the
Board of Supervisors approved Ordinance 9926, copy attached,
increasing the fees effective January 2, 1970.
We are notifying you of this chal"ge So that your City may
enact an ordinance increasing the fees paid by subdjviders
for this service. This is in keeping with the Map Checking
Agreement currently in effect between your City and the County.
