2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF VERNON, FIXING CERTAIN RATES TO BE
CHARGED FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY DISTRIBUTED AND SUPPLIED BY SAID CITY
3 OF VERNON WITHIN ITS BOUNDARIES AND REPEALING CERTAIN ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF VERNON

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 3: The rates to be charged and collected respecting
16 the distribution of energy supplied by the City of Vernon for
17 certain classes of service rendered on and after the effective
18 date of this Ordinance may inc1. ude a Fuel Cost Adjustment Billing
19 Factor to be determined by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
20 A rate increase for Fuel Cost effective as of May 2,
21 1974, has been approved by the Federal Power Commission and will
22 greatly effect the cost of purchased power by the City of Vernon
23 from the Southern California Edison Company. Any increased rates
24 adopted by this Ordinance will off-set a portion of the increased
25 cost of fuel, which cost is passed on to the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: Changes in the Fuel Cost Adjustment Billing
27 Factor shall be made from time to time by resolutions of the City
28 Council of the City of Vernon, when in the City Council's opinion
29 such change. are necessary for the sound financial operation of
30 the Light and Power Operating Funds.

SECTION 5: The rules and regulations respecting the
32 distribution of electrical energy supplied by the City of Vernon

1 shall be those rules and regulations of the Southern California
2 Edison Company applicable to electrical service in the City of
3 Vernon, as adopted by Ordinance No. 828, or any resolution adopted
4 pursuant thereto shall remain in full force and effect.
5 SECTION 6: Any provision of the rules and regulations
6 of the Southern California Edison Company relating to the exercise
7 of jurisdiction by the Public Utilities Commission of the State
8 of California shall be deemed to refer to and mean the City Counci
9 of the City of Vernon.
10 SECTION 7: Ordinance No. 749 of the City of Vernon is
11 hereby deemed to still remain in full force and effect, and not to
12 have been repealed by this Ordinance of the City of Vernon, and
13 the allowance or credit given pursuant to Ordinance No. 749, or
14 any resolution adopted pursuant thereto shall remain in full force
15 and effect, and shall be applicable to all the rates as set forth
16 in this Ordinance_
17 SECTION 8: Any other ordinance or portion thereof in
18 conflict with this Ordinance is hereby repealed, excepting Ordi-
19 nances Nos. 749, 806, 828 and 839, the latter three Which are par-
20 tial1y repealed by this Ordinance, and Resolution No. 4244 is also
21 hereby repealed by this Ordinance. On the effective date of this
22 Ordinance, Ordinance No. 842 is hereby repealed.
23 SECTION 9: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is here-
24 by directed to keep and maintain three (3) copies of the above
25 mentioned rate schedules and rules and regulations applicable to
26 electric service in the City of Vernon in the office of the City
27 Clerk of the City of Vernon, and make such tariff schedules avail-
28 able on request for examination in said office.
29 SECTION 10: There being no newsapper printed, published
30 or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby
31 directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall pos
32 the same, or cause the same to be posted, in three (3) of the most

1 public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner
2 of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis
3 Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the
4 lobby of the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Ave-
5 nue, all in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of
6 California; that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
