1 ORDINANCE NO. 885
2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AMENDING SECTION 5.2 OF
3 ORDINANCE NO. 252 SECTION 1
4 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
5 finds it unnecessary to continue to restrict the establishment
6 of pool or billiard halls within the City; and
7 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds
8 and determines that the elimination of the restrictions contained
9 in former Ordinance No. 252, Section 1, Section 5.2 of the
10 codified Ordinances of the City of Vernon are unduly restrictive
II and are not necessary for the maintenance of the health and
12 welfare of the citizens of the City of Vernon.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
14 DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
Section 5.2 is hereby amended to read
16 as follows:
17 "Any person either as owner, agent employee or
l8 otherwise may establish, conduct, maintain or
19 assist in establishing, conducting, or rnaint-
20

aining, within the city limits of the City, any
pool or billiard hall."
SECTION 2:
There being no newspaper printed, pub-
23 lished and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk
24 is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance
25 and shall post the same or cause the same to be posted in three
26 (3) of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit:
27 the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the
28 northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard,

1 and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall ot
2 said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City
3 of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of California; that
4 this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
5 days from and after said posting.
