ORDINANCE NO. 920
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO.
917 AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
7 Ordinance No. 917 on November 10, 1981; and
8 WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Daily Journal is unable to
9 publish due notice incorporating the provisions of Ordinance No.
10 917 for five (5) consecutive days within fifteen (15) days of
11 its adoption because November 11, 1981 was a holiday and the
12 Los Angeles Daily Journal does not publish on a holiday or on
13 Saturday and Sunday; and
14 TvHEREAS, ~6040.1 of the Government Code requires that
15 the notice of said Ordinance be published for five (5)
16 consecutive days; and
17 WHEREAS, the inclusion of the Los Angeles Daily Journal
18 in said Ordinance was an inadvertent clerical error and should
19 have required publication in the Los Angeles Times.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
21 DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
23 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
24 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 917 is
26 hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify
to the enactment of this Ordinance and shall

cause notice of the same to be published in
accordance with ~6040.1 of the Government
Code of the State of California for five (5)
consecutive days within fifteen (15) days of
its enactment, in the Los Angeles Times, a
daily newspaper of general circulation,
published in the Southern California area,
and sixty (60) days from and after its
enactment it shall take effect and be in full
force, in the manner provided by law."
11 SECTION 3: That in all other respects, Ordinance No.
12 917 shall remain in full force and effect and that any other
13 ordinance or portion thereof not consistent with or in conflict
14 with this Ordinance is hereby repealed.

THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved, enacted and
16 adopted by the City Council of the City of Vernon on this 15th
