AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS. 1048, 1050 AND
1051 FOR THE PURPOSE OF CORRECTING CERTAIN
CLERICAL ERRORS

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1048 was approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Vernon on May 20, 1997, and Ordinance
7 Nos. 1050 and 1051 were approved and adopted by said Council on June
6
8 3, 1997, all for the purpose of reorganizing and renumbering various
9 provisions of the Code of the City of Vernon, California, 1959; and
10
WHEREAS, in Ordinance No. 1048, Exhibit "A," page 2, the
11 reference to "section 28.39" in Code section 28.3(b) (5) should have
12 been to "section 28.40"; and
13
WHEREAS, in Ordinance No. 1050, section 5, subsections H
14 and J, two Code sections were given section number "18.48,"
15 resulting in a misnumbering of sections 18.48 through 18.54 in
16 subsections J, K, L, and M of said section 5; and
17
WHEREAS, in Ordinance No. 1051, Exhibit "A", the correct
18 title for Chapter 19 is "Police Permits," not "Permit Enforcement."
19 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
21 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
22 true and correct.

SECTION 2: section 28.3(b) (5) of the Code of the City of
24 Vernon, California, 1959, as set forth in Exhibit "A", page 2 of
25 Ordinance No. 1048, is hereby amended to read as follows:

Permanent subdivision survey monuments.
Such monuments

shall be placed at corners of all lots in accordance with
28
section 28.40, "Monuments."
1 SECTION 3: Subsections J through M, inclusive, of
2 section 5 of Ordinance No. 1050, are amended to read as follows:
3 J. Existing Code Section 6A.11 shall become Section 18.49 of
4 said Article V of Chapter 18, and the word "chapter" therein is
5 amended to read "article."
6 K. Existing Code section 6A.12 shall become Section 18.50 of
7 said Article V of Chapter 18, the word "chapter" therein is
8 amended to read "article," and the cross-references therein to
9 "section 6A. 4" and to "section 6A. 13" are amended to read
10 "section 18.43" and "section 18.7," respectively.
11 L. Existing Code sections 6A.13 and 6A.14 shall become
12 sections 18.51 and 18.52 of said Article V of Chapter 18, and
13 the word "chapter" in sections 18.50 (twice) and 18.51 is
14 amended to read "article."
15 M. Sections 18.53 and 18.54 are reserved for future use.
16 SECTION 4: The title of Chapter 19 of the Code of the City
17 of Vernon, California, 1959, as adopted by Exhibit "A" to Ordinance
18 No. 1051, is hereby changed to read "Police Permits" instead of
19 "Permit Enforcement."
20 SECTION 5: In all other respects, it is the intent of the
21 Council that the provisions of Ordinance Nos. 1048, 1050 and 1051
22 remain in full force and effect.
23 SECTION 6: There being no newspaper printed, published or
24 circulated in the City of Vernon, the city Clerk is hereby directed
25 to certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall post the same,
26 or cause the same to be posted, within fifteen (15) days after its
27 passage in accordance with section 36933 of the Government Code, in
28 three (3) of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit:

1 the northwest corner of 38th street and Santa Fe Avenue, the
2 northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on
3 the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of said City,
4 located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon, County
5 of Los Angeles, state of California.

SECTION 7:
This ordinance shall be in full force and

effect thirty (30) days from and after its passage of the same.
