Resolution of Award of Contraot tor improvement of that portion
of Santa Fe Avenue in said city lying East of the center line of
said Banta Fe Avenue and extending Southerly trom the production Wes-

Center street, as shown on map of the Hay Tract recorded in Book 2g,
page 2 of Misoellaneous Records of said Los Angeles County and from
thence Southerly to its intersection with the produotion Westerly
of the South line ot Lot 15, Block 6, Huntington Park Extension No.
1 afaresaid, said line being the South city boundary line ot said
City of Vernon. a strip 80 teet wide being 40 teet either side ot
the center line excepting such portions thereof as are required by
law to be kept in order and repair by any person, firm or corporation

Board on the 21st d~ ot September, lil~, in accordanoe with the
plane and speoifications reterred to; and,
WHEREAS, it is resolved and deter.mined in said a.solution No.
144 that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assessments ot
$25.00 or over for the cost of said work or ~prov.ment; said serial
bonds ehall extend over a period ending nine years from and atter
the 2nd 4q ~ ,tt..1t'7 ..........cU.D8 ,,_ 4at. of said bonds. and
an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be
payable by coupon on the 2nd day of Janua.ry eyery year atter their
date until the whole is paid, and the interest shall be payable
semi-annually by coupon on the second days of January and July, re-
speotively, ot each year, at the rate of seven per oent per annum on
all sums so unpaid until the whole of the prinoipal and interest is
paid.
Said bonds shall be issued 1n acoordance with the proTisions
ot the act of the legiSlature of the State of California, entitled
-An act to provide a system of street improvement bonds to ..pe re~e-
sent certa1n assessments for the cost of street work and tmprovemente
within municipalities, and also for the payment ot suoh bond.-
approved February 27th, 1893, and all acts supplementary thereto or
amendatory thereof.
RESOLVED: That the Bo~d ot Trustees of said city hereby rejeot.
all the proposals or bids except the next hereinunder mentioned, and
hereby awards the contract for doing said work or improvement to
the lowest responsible bidder, to-wit: L. A. Paving Company, a oor-
poration, at the prices named in their bid.

to-wit: one at the:Northwest corner of Santa J'e Avenue and 37th
Street, another at the Northwest oorner of Santa Fe Avenue and 38th
Street, and another at the front door ot the City Hall in said city_
Said Clerk 18 also directed to attaoh a copy of the specifications
reterred to in aesolution No. 144 to the copy of the Notice of Award
