NOW TlmREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Board
does hereby authorize its Chairman to execute a contraot on
behalf of the
CITY
VERNON
of
with the said Automobile Club of Southern California, a corpo.-.-
tion, for the performanoe of the necessary work ana. the fur-
nishing of all neoessary materials for the erection of the
signs required in Subdivisions 5 and 6 of Section 1 of tbe
California Vehicle Act as amended by Chapter 147 in the Statut..
of 1919, and said contraCt shall provide that allot suoh ~i...
will be erected free of charge to the
CITY
of
VERNON
by the Automobile Club of Southern
California, a corporation; that such signs shall be the
property of the said Club; that the CITY
of VEHNON
shall agree to employ said Club to maintain
such signs and shall pay said Club for the maintenance of suoh
signs on demand of said oorporation the actual cost of the
material used in replacing or repairing such signs
or the post on which they are elected;
said contraot shall
also provide that said Automobile Club of Southern Oa1ifornia
shall place upon the face of such signs the words and tigures
required by law, and upon the extreme lower portion of the taoe
of such signs, the words, "The Automobile Club of Southern
California", or an abbreviation thereof, above which on all
"20 mile speed limit" signs shall be inscribed the name ot the
