WHEREAS, it is necessary, proper and required that the City
of Ternon purchase and acquire a suitable tract of land for the pur-
pose of erecting thereon,a Cit~' Hal~ and other buildings to house all
of the various departments of the city and other municipal purposesan
ViJREREAS, an offer has this day been made by Howard J .McCurdy
to sell to the City o.f Vernon, for the sum of Forty-eight !fuouaand
Six Hundred and nO/IOO ($48,600.00) Dollars, cash, the property here-
inafter described, free and clear of all encumbrances, except such
restrictions, reservations and conditions as may appear of record,
and,
~~EREAS, said property is the most desireable of any available
property and is ideally situated for the aforesaid purposes and the
price at which the same is offered for sale is fair and reasonable,
NOW THEREFJRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF VERNON, that said offer be, and the same is hereby accepted
and that the property hereinafter described be purchased for the sum
of Forty-eight Thousand Six Hundred and nO/lOO ($48,600.00) Dollars,
and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the purchase of said property is
necessary, proper and required for the aforesaid municipal purposes
and that the purchase price to be paid therefor is hereby declared
and found to be the fair and reasonable market value thereof, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be, and he is
hereby authorized and instructed to draw his warrant upon the p'enera
:fund of the City of Yernon in favor of Howard McCurdy, or order, for
the sum of Forty-eight Thousand Six Hundred and nO/IOO (;i~48,600.00)
Dollars, which amount or sum is hereby appropriated out of said
fund for the purchase of said property, and the President and Clerk
of the Board of Trustees are hereby authorized and instructed to
counter-sign the said warrant and the City Treasurer authorized and
instructed topay the sarne, and

in escrow with the Title Insuranoe and Trust Company with instruotion

A.Chamberlin, City Attorney, of a good and sufficient deed to said
property deeding and conveying the same to the City of Vernon, a
muncipal corporation, together with a oertificate of title of said
comFany showing a good and marketable title to said property to be
vested in the City of Vernon, a municipal corporation, free and clear
