A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD. OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY
O~ VERNm~, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CAL UURNIA,
DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND
THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY SAID CITY
OF THE FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS, TO WIT:
FIRST: THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND
COMPLETION OF A WATER WORKS SYSTEM TO SUPPLY AN]) DISTRUlPrE,
A..1ID PLANTS AND MACHINERY TO A.PPLY WATER FOR PROTECTION AGAINST
FIRE;
SECOND: THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND
CO!~LETION OF A FIRE ALARM SYSTEM;
THE COST OF WHICH IMPRO~,lliNTS WILL BE TOO GREAT TO BE PAID
OUT OF THE ORDINARY ANNUAL INCOME AND REVENUE OF SAID CITY.

Be it resolved and determined by the Board of Truste..
of the City of Vernon as follows:
SECTION 1.
That the public interest and necessity
demand the acquisition, construction and completion by said
City of Vernon of the following municipal improvements, to wit:
First:
The acquisition of lands and the digging,
drilling, construction and completion of wells, reservoir.,
stand-pipes, tanks, mains, pipelines, pumping stations,
pumping plants, machinery and equipment, fire houses and fire
engines and equipment, and all other works, property or
structures neoessary or proper for a water works system for
supplying, distributing and applying water for the proteotion
of said oi ty anel i te inhabitant. troll fire and the' inourring
of other expenses incidental thereto or arising therefrom.
Seoond:
The aoquisition, construction and completion
of a fire alarm system and all works, property or structures
neoessary or proper therefor, and the incurring of other
expenses incidental thereto or arising therefrom.
And that said improvements and each of them are
necessary and convenient to carry out the objects, purposes
and powers of said city.

SECTION 2.
That the estimated oost of said
municipal improTements is as follows:
Fir s t :
For the aoquisition of lands and the
digging, drilling, construction and completion of wells,
reservoirs, stand-pipes, tanks, mains, pipelines, pumping
sta. tions. pumping plants I maohinery and equipment, fire houses
and fire engines and equipment, and all other works, property
or struotures necessary or proper for a water works system
for supplying, distributing and applying water for the pro-
teotion of said oity and its inhabitants from fire and the
inourring of other expenses incidental thereto or arising
therefrom, the sum of five mUldred thousand dollars ($500,000.).
Second:
For the aoquisition, oonstruotion and
completion of a fire alarm system and all works, property or
structures necessary or proper therefor, and the incurring of
other expenses inoidentBJ. thereto or arising therefrom, the sum
of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.).
And that the oost of each of said munioipal improve-
ments is and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary
annual income and revenue of said oity.
SEOTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution by a vote of two-thirds
of all the members of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon and its approval by the President of said Board.
