RESOLUTION NO. 281.
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE WORK AND IMPROVEMENT
3 DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 265,
4 WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon,
5 did, in open session, on the 16th day of October, 1923, open,
6 examine and declare the sealed proposals or bids for doing cer-
7 tain work and improvement in said City, under and in pursuance
8 of the "Improvement Act of 1911", the name of the street and high-
9 way proposed to be improved, and the location and character of
10 said proposed work being described in Resolution of Intention No,
11 265, of said Board of Trustees, adopted on the 4th day of September,
12 1923, which resolution of intention is hereby expressly referred
is to for further particulars. All of said proposals and bids being
14 referred to a committee consisting of all the members of the
15 Board of Trustees present at said meeting of October 16th, 19230
16 to report thereon at an adjourned regular meeting to be held on
17 the 23rd day of October, 1923, the said committee having re-
18 ported.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said Board of Trustees
20 hereby reject all of said proposals or bids, except the next
21 herein mentioned, and hereby award the contract for the doing of
22 said work and improvement to the lowest responsible bidder, to
23 wit: ,TOE CHUTUCK, at the price named in his bid.
24 The City Clerk IS hereby directed to publish a notice
25 of this award twice in the Huntington Park Signal, a newspaper
26 published in the City of Huntington Park, County of Los Angeles,
27 and circulated in the City of Vernon, said paper being designated
