WHEREAS, a petition has been of the City of Los Angeles, requesting pr~~<Nl TeJ ~.an~ad^to the Council that prooeedings be commenced for the improvement of Alameda street from 836.71 feet south of 21st street to Slauson Avenue and portions of adjoining streets, and WHEREAS, the work to be done lies partly within the limits of the City of Los Angeles and partly within the limi ts of the City of Vernon along the bOlmdary line common to both of said Cities, and the pr oposed di stric t to be assess- ed to pay the cost and expenses of said work includes territory in both of said Oi ties, and VffiKqEAS, the Council of the City of Los Angeles has determined to institute proceedings for the improvement of streets under the provis ions of "An Act to provide for the establ:shment and change of grade of public streets, avenues, lanes, alleys, courts, places rights of way forming the exterior boundaries of any municipality, whether partly or in wholly wi t!!lor wit(~out said boun6.aries, or ext ending into the territ~ry of two or more municipalities, or extending into the territory of one or more munioipalities and unincorporated territory. and providing for work upon and the improvement thereof, and providing for the construction of sanitary and storm sewers, drains and drainage systems. together with any and all appurtenalilles and appurtenant work in connection with any of such wotk or improve- ments; to assess the whole or any portion of the costs and expenses thereof upon private property, and to provide for a system of local improvement bonds to represent the assessments for such costs and expenses and for the payment and effect of such bonds, "approved April 21. 1911. as amended. and W~qEAS, under the provisiBns of said act, it is necessary t;at Board of Trustees of the Oi ty of Ver non by resolut ion, consent to the formation of such an assessment district and the commencement of a proceeding for the improvement of said street. / RE2.0LUTIO! That the improvement of said streets will be of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and that the district to be benefited thereby and which should be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof is that district hereinafter desoribed. 3. That the public interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of the Council of the City of Los Angeles to order the grade of the southerly side of JEFFERSON STREET, from Alameda Street to 36.26 feet westerly therefrom and the northerly side of Jefferson Street from Alameda Street to a point ouposite a point in the southerly line of 36.26 feet measured thereon westerly from the southwesterly corner of Alameda street, changed and established in accordance with the following eleva- tions: At the intersection with Alameda Street, the grade shall be 202.60 at the northwesterly corner and 202.55 at the south- westerly corner. At a point in the southerly line 16.26 feet westerly from the southwesterly corner of Alameda street, the grade shall be 202.25. At a point in the southerly line 36.26 feet southerly from the southwesterly corner of Alameda Street, the grade shall be 202.13 and 202.34 at a point in the northerl~ line opposite thereto. - '!f - ~tq . , SECTION 3. That the public interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of the Council of the City of Los Angeles, to order the grade of the southerly side of 37th STREET, from Alameda Street to 56.67 feet westerly therefrom and the northerly side of 37th Street from Alameda Street to a point opposite a point in the southerly line 58.67 feet measured thereon westerly from the southwesterly corner of Alameda Street, changed and established in accordance with the follow- ing elevations. "Ii t the intersection with Alameda Street, the grade shall be 201.80 at the northwesterly corner and 201.16 at the southwesterly corner. At points in the southerly line measured thereon westerly from a line perpendicular to the southerly line of 37th Street at the southwesterly corner of Alameda street and at points in the northerly line opposite thereto, the grade shall be respectively as follows: At 5.00 feet, 200.80 in the southerly line; at 18.67 feet, 200.60 in the southerly line (elevation referring to finished surface) and 201.40 in the northerly line; at 38.67 feet, 200.35 in the southerly line (elevation referring to finished surface) and 201.10 in the northerly line. At a point in the southerly line 58.67 feet measured thereon westerly from the southwesterly corner of Alameda street the grade shall be 200.25 and 200.95 at a poiQt in the northerly line opposite thereto. SECTION 4. That the public interest and convenience require and that it is the intention of the Council of the City of Los Angeles to order the grade ot the southerly side of 39th STREET, - f> - """" ",7 . , . from Alameda Street, to 76.23 feet westerly therefrom and the northerly side of 39th Street from Alameda Street to a point opposite a point in the southerly line 76.23 feet measured thereon westerly from the southwesterly corner of Alameda street changed and established in accordance with the follow- ing e! evat ions. At the intersection with Alameda street, the grade shall be 199.10 at the southwesterly corner and 199.20 at the norrthwesterly corner. At points in the southerly line measured thereon westerly from a line perpendicular to the southerly line of 39th Street at the southwesterly corner of Alameda Street and at points in the northerly line opposite thereto the grade shall be respectively as follows: At 36.23 feet, 198.40 in the southerly line and 198.60 in the northerly line; at 56.23 feet, 198.05 in the southerly line and 198.30 in the northerly line. That the public interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of the Council of the City of Los Angeles to order the grade of the southerly aide of 41st STREET, from Alameda street to 68.31 feet westerly therefrom and the northerly side of 41st Street from Alameda street to a point opposite a noint in the southerly line 68.31 feet measured there- on westerly from the southwesterly corner of ~lameda Street, changed and est~blished in accordance with the following eleva- tions~ - 9 - At the intersection with Alameda Street the grade shall be 197.50 at the southwesterly corner and 197.60 at the northwesterly corner. At points in the southerly line measured thereon westerly from a line perpendicular to the southerly line of 41st street at the southwesterly corner of Alameda Street and at points in the northerly line opposite thereto the grade shall be resuectively as follows: At 28.31 feet, 196.80 in the southerly line and 197.10 in the northerly line; At 48.31 feet, 196.45 in the southerly line and 196.75 in the northerly line. At a point in the southerly line 68.31 feet westerly from the southwesterly corner of Alameda street, the grade shall be 196.34 and 196.63 at a point in the northerl; line opposite thereto. That the public interest and convenience require and that it is the intention of the Council of the City of Los Angeles to order the grade of the southerly side of 46th Street, from Alameda street to 45.64 feet westerly therefrom and the northerly side of 46th street from nlameda street to a point opposite a point in the southerly line, 45.64 feet measured thereon westerly from the southwesterlY corner of Alameda Street changed and established in accordance with the following elevations: .At the intersection with ..lameda street, the grade shall be 190.10 at the northwesterly corner and 190.00 at the southwesterly corner. - 12, - J " " ~~ ~ . At a point in the northerly line 20 feet west of the north- westerly corner of Alameda Street, the grade shall be 187.39 (eleva- tion referring to the finished surface). At a pOint in the northerly line 40 feet west of the north- westerly corner of Alameda Street, the grade shall be l87.l8(eleva- tion referring to the finished surface). At a point in the northerly line 60 feet west of the north- westerly corner of Alameda Street, the grade shall be 187.05 (eleva- tion referring tb the finished surface). At a point in the southerly line 23.29 feet west of the south- westerly corner of Alameda Street, the grade shall be l87.28(eleva- tion referring to the finished surface). SECTION 10. At all points between said designated uoints, the grade shall be established so as to conform to a straight line drawn be- tween said designated points. Elevations refer to the top of the curb, (unless otherwise mentioned herein) are in feet and are above a plane which is 255 feet below the City datum plane of the City of Los Angeles. - 18 - - a 5. That the improvements which are proposed to be made are described as follows: Sec. 1. That the public interest and convenience require and that it is the intention of the Council of the City of Los Angeles to order the follo~dng work to be done, to-wit: 1st: That the roadway of ALA11EDA STREET, from a line 214.86 feet northerly from and parallel with the south Charter Boundary Line .of the Ci~y of Los Angeles to the said south Charter Boundary Line and lying between a line 51 feet Westerly from and Parallel with the Easterly line of Alameda street and the ';:esterly line 0 f Alameda street, also that the roadway of Alameda street from the South Charter Boundary Line of the City of Los Angeles to the Easterly prolongation of the South BOtUlcary Line of the City of Los Angeles, as established April 2, 1896 and lying between the most Westerly line of Alameda street and a line 55 feet Easterly therefrom and parallel there- with, excepting such portions of said street as are used by any rail- road track 0 f tracks, the space between the rails and for two feet on each side thereof, and between the tracks if there be more than one; also that the roadway of THIRTY-EIGHTH STP~ET. from the Westerly line of Alameda Street to a line 10 feet '{lesterly therefrom and parallel therewith, also that the ro adway 0 f VERnon AVEnUE, from the Westerly line of Alameda street to a line 40 feet westerly therefrom and Parallel therewith, excepting such por- tions of said street as are used by any railroad track or tracks, the space between the rails and for two feet on each side thereof, and between the tracks if there be more than one, be graded and paved with concrete pavement 8 inches thick. 2nd: That the roadway of THIRTY-SEVElTTH STREET, iron tllOl Westerly line 0 f Alameda street to a line perpendicular to the Southerly line of 37th Street at a point 58.67 feet westerly from the Westerly line of Alameda Street between the - 14 - northerly curb line of 37th street and the southerly line 0~37th street, excepting where ce~ent curb and cement side- walk are to be constructed as is hereinafter described; also that tho road\iay 0 f FORTY-FEST STREET, from the westerly line of Alameda street to a line perpendicular to the southerly line of 41st street at a point 68.31 feet westerly from the westerly line of Alameda Street, also that theroadway of FORTY-THIRD STREET. from the westerly line 0 f Alameda street to a line perpendicular to the southerly line of 43rd street at a point 79.89 feet westerly from the westerly line of Alameda Street; and also that the roadway 0 f FORTY-EIGHTH PLJ.CE, fro~ the westerly line of ALameda street to a line 20 feet westerly therefrom and parallel tlierewi th be graded and :;nved with concrete pavenent 6 inches thick. 3rd: That the roadway of JEFFERSOn S TREE T, from the westerly line of Alameda street to a line 10 feet westerly therefrom and parallel therewith, also that the roadway of THI~Y-SEVENTH STREET, from the westerly line of Alameda street to a line 10 feet westerly therefrom and parallel therewith, also that the roadway of THmTY-SEVEUTH STREET, from a line perpendicular to the southerly line of 37th street at a point 58.67 feet westerly from the westerly line of Alameda Street to a line 10 feet westerly fro~ and parallel with said perpendicular line, also that the roadway of THIRTY-NINTH STREET, from the westerly line of Alameda Street to a line 50 feet westerly therefrom and parallel therewith, also that the roadway of --. /5 ...+, .
